We missed you, too, but we don’t anymore. BLUF: we won’t we back, but we hope you get your service together b/c we enjoy the beer. The beer is wonderful and the pizza is good, too. Service? Esh...let me provide details. Sunday, 1200, a sunny 90 degrees. Outdoor beer garden under a tent is closed, all good. Outdoor seating open, only every other table has an umbrella...weird, hope you get one with an umbrella. Kids welcome, remember, it’s 1200. We sit inside, maybe 25 people total, including our party of 9. Question, do you only have three beers on tap right now? Server: “I don’t know, I haven’t looked at the menu.” The pizza order has to be put in twice, someone screwed up the entry the first time. so 30 minutes in, no pizza. No problem, the adults are having fun drinking beer and the kids are playing card games. We pay the tab with our server. Kids are being a little loud with their card game, within ear shot of a young lady cleaning tables who is NOT a server, we tell them to quiet down. Not super loud like other customers complaining, just us being parents. Cleaning lady comes to tell us to keep it down. Yup, under control, all good...see? Quiet. Young lady returns within 2 minutes to tell us “just to let you know you’re at 1:40...” Yeah, we got it. “Oh, I’m just letting you know.” No you’re not...you have open tables and no wait, you’re just being irritating. You went from telling us our kids were a little loud, which we were actively working in front of you to cross referencing our checkin time. Which, BTW, is irrelevant on SUNDAY at 1200 when you have open tables, no wait, and your reservations page says “Table time limits of 90 mins will be strictly enforced during peak hours, Fri/Sat.” Sunday. 1340. Pizza order screwed up. Tables open. No wait. Irritating or “just letting us know?” You decide. I recommend steering clear of their main location and finding the beer and your...
Read moreHave long history with this place, as I often visited before they could even sell their beer - they didn’t have a license at first so had to give samples away to build a following. So that was good.
But then recently went to their sister site in Cambridge where they charged me $11 for each beer (plus tips), probably to make up for all my free tastings. Still not worth it, though.
Today I stopped by the actual brewery in Woburn, and while pleased to see they finally added food other than pizza to their menu (which at $23 for a small, I wasn’t going to buy), I was not at all thrilled with other options. Tried the wings, which definitely needed extra sauce to taste good, but I really resented having to pay 50 cents for slightly more than a full teaspoon of pretty boring sauces. I won’t order food here again. Ever.
The beer, though, at least the Galactic Vagabond, was exceptional. Most of my circle of friends have grown way past their Boom Sauce, which used to be our staple, but their newish ones have never urged me to order a second. I did this one.
One final note to describe something that has bothered me from the very beginning of this place - even when the beer was free - is the crowd in attendance has never been my crowd. So many other breweries have a very diverse clientele - but not Lord Hobo in Woburn . They have never had variety. Hard to say why, although as soon as you walk in you would understand, but I’ve been here maybe 50+ times, and I have NEVER felt at home and comfortable in this place.
Nonetheless, I like their new more open to the outdoor space and may try them once again when the weather is more conducive to...

Long post, but these guys deserve their story to be told.
I’ve been here several times. Always a good experience, but this day was exceptional.
We ordered beers from one of the most friendly bartenders I’ve encountered. We’ve always had pizza that was amazing; unfortunately, it was not as I’d advertised to the friend i was with so I was a bit embarrassed.
I noticed that the original bartender who served us our beers, was off his shift so went over and tipped him a few dollars and said thanks for your hospitality. He then asked me how everything was, and I proceeded to tell him very nicely the others had not checked on us, but no big deal, and we were a little disappointed in the pizza, there was a little too much sauce and not enough cheese. Hey, stuff happens. Restaurants are shortstaffed, everybody does the best they can. Told him I was not telling him as a complaint, but more as constructive criticism because I had had so many great pizzas in the past. Next thing I know I was told it was his son making the pizzas and he appreciated the feedback! (Totally embarrassed!) He then bought us another beer. Came time to pay and I asked for our check. They took the pizza off the bill. That was totally unnecessary on their part! It was just something they did to make a customer feel welcome (I tipped accordingly). Yes, we’ll be back, but I would’ve gone back without those things, because every place has a bad day now and then. Thank you @ Lord Hobo Brewery crew. I think you know all...
