I've lived in the Pizza capital of the world (New Haven) and have tried the competitors (Grimaldi's [Brooklyn]). Domenic & Pia (I'm originally from Waterbury) are an honorable mention. But Wolcott Pizza is a HIDDEN GEM!

It's all about the wood! If you like smokey flavor (and who doesn't) then THIS IS THE PLACE! From the moment you walk in, the phenomenal smell of old world Italian ingredients and slow burning oak wood smoke fills your nostrils and tickles the pleasure centers of your Brain. It's like being transported to the old world European country side.

But even if you don't have the time for such a pleasurable experience, you don't have to worry BECAUSE IT'S ALL IN THE FLAVOR! The cheese, dough, toppings and sauce soak up all the smokey goodness and the aroma is pleasing to the soul of a wood smoke lover.

And oh yeah did I mention...

THEY DELIVER!!!!!!!!!!

This fact alone gives them the edge on any of the above mentioned Pizza spots (none of whom deliver BTW). Nevermind trying to compare it to any other delivery ANYWHERE because there just is no competition.

Finally, I think Urim (owner and head chef who has been making pizza since he was 9yrs old) could easily charge $50/pie stacked and delivered and it would be worth it but as it stands his prices are competitive.

Although this place is neither a diner, drive thru, or dive; a visit from Guy Fieri in his future. THIS PLACE IS A MUST MUST MUST TRY, 👐DOWN, STRAIGHT ⬆️, NO 🏃🏃‍♀️

When you arrive to pick up your order you'll walk into a quaint little pizza place with the smell of a rich wood fire swarming into your nostrils. Hickory and maple burn in the brick oven giving off that decadent smell which enriches the pizza dough with delicious perfection.

I love a pizza with toppings and I was shocked by their pricing. Every pizza place I've ever been charges you obnoxious fees for toppings but not this hidden gem of a pizza place. If you get just a topping or two it's a small fee, get 3 or more and they just call it "the works"! For a fair price you can get as many vegetables as you like on your masterfully created pizza. From making their own dough to creating a pizza pie the way Italians intended you'll get the best pizza you can find anywhere in the county or even most of the state.

The service I got here was great. Despite being the best pizza around, they portrayed themselves with a dignified humility and treated me with nothing but kindness. This was my first time here. I had ordered over the phone without a menu and upon hearing my intrigue for their hot cherry peppers they offered to pull out my pizza and throw them on for me. Even with the disrupted cook process the pizza was still fantastic and I'll be gladly driving down into Wolcott from Bristol for the best pizza...

FYI to anyone that's been searching for the ultimate pizza. The owner Mr Belica is a childhood friend of mine, so people might think I'm being biased. Yet I have to let pizza lovers outside of Wolcott CT know , what Wolcott residents already know. He provides Amazing authentic Italian pizza , with the highest quality cheese, sauce and flower that unfortunately 99% of pizzerias refuse to provide to customers due to their bottom line. Service is professional, prompt and always timely. Food is delivered with love and in good time.

I too am a pizza maker, who has worked for many new haven style pizzerias over my 40 year career and although they are more well known offer a pizza that's either inferior or on par to Wolcott pizza. I can compliment the pizza and staff all day , yet the truth is you're going to have to experience it for yourself. Start this New year with an awesome true wood fired pizza .
