Average: Not bad, just not great It's been a while since we last ate here and we were looking forward to dropping in! Expectations were high... too high *sigh*. We were disappointed, Dropped by on a Sunday afternoon, about 12:30 -- peak lunch time. Service -- Overall disappointing. Slow and not particularly friendly..: -- We arrived and waited to be seated. There was one other couple ahead of us. Lots of servers but no greeting. Just waiting. And there were several empty tables. It was weird. I guess no hostess? After about 5 minutes, the couple ahead of us was greeted and immediately seated. We were seated soon after in the screened in porch area. We got our pick of 3 empty tables which was nice. -- Our waitress never introduced herself but did promptly ask us what we wanted for drinks. My husband = root beer float. Me = ice water, no lemon. Both came quickly. Including my water WITH lemon. Why did she ask if I wanted lemon if she wasn't gonna listen to the answer? *sigh* -- We ordered our meals. Delivery on that was SLOW. I though my husband was gonna steal from the people next to us. When it did arrive, it was steaming hot, so good. -- No checkins, not drink refills. I did flag down another woman for takeaway boxes. She offered us water refills. -- Check was left with a smile and promptly collected. No issue -- When we left, there was a scrum of waitresses, waiters, staff down at the end of the ice cream counter (not by the door) involved is some exchange. We shouted out "Thanks, bye!" and got no response. That left us cold... Ambience/décor: Good EXCEPT for the flies: -- Pretty old/rustic style. Lots of wood booths: quaint but small and a tad cramped. -- Main room is rather dark and view out the windows is not exactly "scenic" (but the natural light helped lighten the feel in the room). -- The ice cream bar with order out window is classic. -- The screened in room is much better with lots of natural light. BUT the constant flies were really annoying. The meal got a mixed review: - I am a fried clam NUT and like big bellied whole clams. I asked: are the whole clams big bellied? Oh YES, I was told I ordered to combo scallops and clams ($22.99). The serving looked great until I figured out most of it was onion rings. GOOD onion rings, but a lot of 'em. Not many clams and most certainly not big bellies. OK, but very disappointing. The scallops however were big and flavorful. - My husband got a Lobster Crab cake ($15.99): combination of lobster, shrimp and crab. It was certainly big and flavorful. He could not specifically pick out lobster per se, but said it was a good combo. Clearly not all crab. And he had half to take home it was so big! He was not a fan of the siracha sauce so instead snagged my tarter sauce which was a better choice for him. - The rootbeer float was also a big hit! Ice cream, root beer in an old style glass -- he was a very happy boy! All in all, nothing particularly bad. But also nothing really standout.

Cozy New England style porch full of booths perfect for small and large groups, happy families ,handicapped accessible where comfort food is way above average.Wednesday is " Italian night" with 4 entrees to chose from : Chicken Parmesan was flying out of there ,all with garlic bread and choice of cavaletti or linguine Senior smaller portion and lower priced dishes available, full bar menu craft drafts, special martinis: coffee Expresso nitro on tap is the most popular Ask for " Erica" to serve you,as she now teaches 3rd grade having worker scooped their delicious ice cream( formerly Bailey's)since her teen years Such a fun staff there...Heard the Pub is fun, too! Plenty of parking right off the main road into town.

Sat at the bar and was serviced by Christine. She was attentive and made great suggestions for my first visit to their establishment. The gentleman that brought out my food didn't introduce himself but I assume he was either the GM or owner. Everyone was pleasant and friendly. I met a super nice guy who made recommendations as well as a regular. I ordered their Ruben which was delicious. Crispy bread with plenty of meat, and fixings. The onion rings were handmade, but needed more seasoning. They were crispy as well. I'll be back.

This was my first time eating at this restaurant. My daughter loves the restaurant, and that's where she chose to go out to eat for her Birthday. The atmosphere was nice. It's not a 5 star, but I gave it 4 stars. There was a wide range of different meals or sides on the menu, you can order. I had the fried chicken sandwich with onion rings, instead of fries. I really enjoyed my meal. My mother got the American chop-suey, and she thought it was good. She couldn't finish her whole dish of it, so she took the rest home for leftovers. My children (that are ages 16, and 17 going onto 18 next month), both ordered different meals. They were both full by the end of their meals. EXCEPT, my Sweet 16 Birthday girl and I, had ice-cream for dessert 🍨! The service was a 4, because our waitress forgot 2 things we had asked for. But, I know that it is a very busy, and a somewhat stressful job. I was a waitress for awhile, when I was a bit younger. And, I completely understand how it is, and forgetting something someone asks for does happen. So, in my opinion she gets 4 stars for service. All in all, I would recommend this restaurant, if you're in the Wolfeboro area. They do have seafood, which i believe is what the restaurant is known for. So, if that is what you're craving, you should try this restaurant. I do NOT eat seafood, so i can't testify to it. The menu prices are expensive, but that is everywhere these days. I would go back to eat here again, if given the chance. I live in Maine, and my children live with their Dad, in Wolfeboro. l do go visit whenever I get the chance to. So this restaurant is going into my "mental list" of good...

I recently visited Morrissey's Front Porch and "Pub" about a week or so ago on a Friday evening with my family and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. It's been many years since my last visit, back when the original owners operated the establishment. I've heard positive feedback and decided to make a family visit during our travels. The food was not bad, but when you consider the prices, it just doesn’t justify the cost. The portions were small, food was a bit cold, and the flavors were underwhelming. For what I paid, I expected something much better. The food all looked good but just lacked some seasoning and a good portion size. The décor remains unchanged since the establishment's inception, predating the adoption of the Morrissey's name.

What was frustrating was the clear preference given to the regulars at the bar with a lot of "unconventional conversations" loud enough for us to hear; very inappropriate for this type of setting. Some of the staff seemed much more interested in serving them than paying attention to new customers. It felt like they cared more about keeping the regulars happy than providing a decent experience for everyone else. I will consider giving this place another try in the future as the old town charm feel makes you feel welcome. There are plenty of places in town that offer better food and service for a more reasonable price however, Most places lack the history, charm, and comfort this place has had on so many generations. Different name but same old town feel. I hope they can continue the wonderful traditions I...
