Wood River Donut N More — Restaurant in Wood River

I've had both the lunch food and the donuts from here and felt they were all some of the worst food I've had in a while. And this was from 2 different visits...the first visit, I got broccoli cheddar soup with a chicken salad sandwich. It was so bad that after trying a bite of each in the parking lot, I just left all of the food there. The sandwich was flavorless and literally slopped together with no TLC - half the contents were falling out of the container and into the paper bag, which was soggy and unpleasant. The soup had a strange texture and wasn't even fresh. It also tasted horrible. The second visit, the apple fritter I bought was burnt with barely any apples in it, and the plain donut had no memorable flavor. When we were walking up to the shop a brunette woman with a veteran hat on was smoking, looked at us twice and shook her head while she was conversing with 2 other patrons. She seemed awfully mad she had to put her ciggarette out early and while my husband held the door open for myself and the worker, she said nothing. We turned around and walked out. We don't support businesses thet treat customers poorly for NO reason. I'm sorry you didn't get to finish your smoke break, but that behavior is uncalled for. I went to this place this morning at 6:30am to get donuts for my guys, needed 4 dozen glaze. The lady was completely rude. She weighed about 300 lbs and had purple hair. Very pouty attitude and asked me 3 times if I really needed that many. As she was getting them she proceeded to tell me that I needed to call for that many and that I wouldn't just walk in to a cake place and ask for wedding cake the same day. Not sure how that is even a comparison to a donut shop. Guess she didn't want to work that hard this early in the morning. Shame, this place has been around a long time.
