Not what they used to be. Drove 45min for their subs to end up with basically empty sandwich. Minimal meat but a lot of lettuce. They used to be known for packing their sandwiches with meat. All good things come to an end sooner than later. But they managed to increase the price from $14 to $20. Ill see ya in another 5 years, probably not.
Response back: i came at 3:00 today. Look back at your receipts. I was charged $20 for half filled sandwich. I know your sandwiches well and thats why i drove so far (flemington) and sat in traffic on the way back. If i wanted a normal sandwich i would have bought some white bread and done it myself. Prior to receiving my sandwich i specifically asked for a knife so i could fold/close the sandwich expecting it to be full but i didnt need the knife, sandwich closed no problem. You should give more specific guidelines, a poster of some sort in english AND SPANISH to your workers when making sandwiches ex: 10 slices of X, 5 slices of Y, 1 layer of Z, 3 second hold with oil/vinegar. This is purely a lack of management leadership. New workers do not know your reputation and ultimately dont know what they dont know. You tell them to “put a lot” which is subjective to each person. You guys been in business for 15 years there and this should not be an issue at this point. Dont lose sight of the actual issue, the price is a fraction of the issue only because of the lack of food given.
P.S. $13.65 + tax is the price of a whole italian, Not $12.30 Seems like you been absentee for a while. I got 2 halves at $20 but the amount given was not even equal to your normal 1 half sandwich. A half sandwich is only $3 cheaper? Get out of town with...
Read moreUpdate 5/25/25 I ordered more catering from Goodfellows over the past few weeks for some in office meetings. Let me tell you, I regularly get comments from office staff asking where I ordered it from because it was delicious. The focaccia sandwich platter is my personal favorite, but the cold wraps and the fruit platter were also ordered yesterday and the food just disappears. The online ordering has made my life running an office much easier to navigate and the drivers are prompt with delivery. Keep up the great work guys!
If I could give them 10 stars for their service I would. I admittedly got lazy and ordered catering for a work luncheon through a third party catering platform (not sure if I'm allowed to name them). This platform incorrectly advertised serving sizes for this restaurant. When the food arrived I was disappointed in the volume to say the least. I called the restaurant at once and learned that I should have just called and ordered right from them to begin with. I'd have had the right amount of food based on our headcount and would likely have saved on fees. They were quick to offer me a solution and I had more food in my hands in less than 20 minutes. Their willingness to help me out last minute was amazing. I will no longer use this third party platform and will only order direct from restaurants again and can't wait until we get our next order from Goodfellows. Their food really is outstanding. Focaccia sandwiches disappeared super quickly, the wraps were outstanding and the added sub sandwiches are just as delicious. Of course we got the cannoli's as well and those disappear...
Read moreSince we very literally woke up talking about last night's dinner from Goodfellows, I think it's only appropriate to leave a review! First off, a very special embarrassing thank you to the sweet girl at the register for putting up with my scatterbrain, and for talking me into the INSANE sandwich she did (I'm coming back for those cannolis too).. We got a (monster size) grilled chicken, broccoli rabe and fresh mozz on a HUGE GARLIC KNOT roll. Yes, a big foccacia (i think) garlic knot. Insanity. One of the best sandwiches I've ever had, and the garlic knot roll is over the top. I cannot wait to try the sausage version and make my own creation on one in the very near future! We also got a few slices because they're always on point and delish. This time I couldn't resist adding a godfather special slice with fresh mozzarella, roasted peppers, chicken, and Balsamic on top...was to die for, as everything always is from Goodfellas. I've never been disappointed, they have the NJ pizzeria staples with some of their own specialty dishes & sandwiches mixed in. The website always has a load of great specials that change seasonally, the counters are filled with delicious fresh grab and go, they're fairly priced and generous with portions and the staff is always so kind. truly one of those local gems you want to give your business to!
and yes...I said a sandwich made in house on a HUGE...
