My husband, my 10 month old and I went for lunch and a quick bite on a Saturday around 1:45p. We walked in and I had to ask if we sat ourselves, no sign indicating otherwise. There was one other table when we got there. We sat down and the server handed us menus but didn’t come back to the table for almost 10 minutes to get our drink and food order at the same time. My husband also had to grab a highchair himself neither person working offered to get one for us. The server was busy talking to 3 men that came in and sat at the bar section. My husband ordered a Philly cheesesteak grinder and I ordered a turkey club. When the food came out the server handed my husband a Philly cheesesteak on 2 Kaiser rolls and said that they didn’t have any grinder rolls. I have never been to a restaurant that doesn’t tell you ahead of time that they were out of something because my husband would have ordered something else. The turkey on my sandwich tasted weird, not sure if it was old but it had a funky taste to it. My husband took a bite and said the same thing. The waitress didn’t come back to the table to see how our food was, I had to gesture to her to come to the table. I told her the sandwich wasn’t good and I would like a BLT instead. I waited over 20 minutes for it to come out. When she brought it, I got a BLT club. After I made the complaint the server came over more often and so did an older woman who was talking to my baby, but before this she didn’t come over to the table. We had to leave because my baby didn’t really let us stay long. We had our meals boxed up and we left. I’ve been here 2 other times and the food was good and so was the service, not sure what happened on this particular day. I know the owner is affiliated or was to Nick’s in Bethlehem and the food there is great so again not sure how the food and service...
Read moreFirst time here since moving to the area in during the pandemic. Cute place. 10 tables and counter service. There is a breakfast menu which includes all things eggs, waffles, pancakes, etc… and a lunch menu with salads, wraps, sandwiches, grinders, …
Servers are very nice, but it seemed like there was one person in the front dealing with the customers and one in the back doing all the cooking. Because of that, service was a bit slow.
However, food was prepared to order and served hot. My husband, son, and I enjoyed our food. The gyro, I was told, had too much onion and no tomato or other garnish. Also, it seemed that the tzatziki was made without cucumbers…? Strange for a Greek place to get that wrong. Benedict’s were yum, but hollandaise sauce a bit thick. Otherwise delish and flavorful.
And yes, as another posted, there is a 4% charge for paying by credit card. I think it’s on the menu, but not certain. Not thrilled with this policy… I guess you can always pay with cash to avoid it.
Overall, we...
Read moreAfter visiting the jeweler next door, we were looking for dinner and decided to try Annoula’s Taverna! They had a great variety of Greek dishes on their menu, and everything was pretty tasty that we had. For a while it was just my family and I in the dining room, but as it grew more into the dinner hour on a Friday night, it seemed like a lot of regulars began to arrive. One critique that we had was that the dip platter didn’t have nearly enough pita or veggies, and though we asked for another round of pita, that wasn’t even really enough to finish the dips. We saved it to have with our meals so as not to waste it. My dad said his lamb chops weren’t very flavorful and my mom said her Pastitsio (Greek lasagna) was a bit dry and needed more sauce. It’s nice that there’s an option for Greek in Woodbury, and the vibe is bright and inviting with almost a diner feel. I’d be curious to come back and try their breakfast...
