This place has amazing potential. The simulator was awesome, the food was great, and the atmosphere was good too. The problem was the lack of staff - which ruined the whole experience for us.
We had a 9:30 reservation for a bay, so we arrived a couple of hours early to grab a table, eat dinner and have some drinks before. 10 minutes after being seated, the hosted came by and realized there was no server in the area, so she helped us out. Many of our drink orders were wrong, we asked for waters 4-5 times and they never came, but at least the food was good. We had plenty of time, so it wasn't a big deal.
10 minutes before our reservation time, we finished tabbing out and made sure we were checked in for the bay. The group ahead was finishing up, the hostess was finishing her shift and leaving so she said we were good to proceed to the bay when the prior group left.
At 9:45 (15 minutes after our reservation), after trying to find staff for several minutes, I had to ask the group to leave. That's an awkward position to put patrons in - but by 9:55 we were in the bay setting up the game ourselves. Normally, I believe a server would have cleaned up and set up the game, but there didn't appear to be anyone covering our bay. The bartender came to clear the dishes from the prior group, but a server never game to our area. Since we were 25 minutes late starting our time, I wanted to extend our time and get the full hour. I asked a passing server if there was anyone following us. She begrudgingly went to check the schedule and then told us we were over our time and had to leave immediately. This was at 10:35.
I need to give kudos where they are due. The bartender was kind enough to reduce our bay price by half. That's probably the least she could do since we only got to use it for half of our reserved time.
I understand everyone is understaffed right now. There appeared to be a big event in the back, and the bays were all full the entire time we were there, so I understand it was a busy night - even through the bar and table area was less than half full. A change to the process allowing for turnover time and ensuring people leave the bay when their time us up would have turned a frustrating night into an excellent one.
I may try one more time to see if a less busy weekday has a better experience but I'm much more inclined to make the drive to Top Golf after...
Read moreWant to first off saying that it was a pleasant surprise when my friends and I found a fun golf simulator for the winter, so pleasant in fact a few of us purchased the birdi black card to enhance or birdi experience. Which we definitely used, going usually twice a week for a full 4 hours between 5 of us. In the photo you will see what the birdi black card "used to be" I am writing the day after they changed it since a friend of mine and me where just in and tried to use some of our "loyalty points" which as the photo says you get 1 free hour for every 10 hours you play. What a deal so we thought, having bought the pass in November 21 we would rack up quite a few hours before the new season, again so we thought. March 1, 2022 went in normal day usual service no complaints as usual, Then comes the billing. First the waitress tells us we have been here for 13 hours and that the play time resets after Jan 1 so all of our loyalty points were gone, but I think she may have been confused because we had almost 13 hours of free time atleast so we thought. She grabbed the manager and he started saying how we couldnt actually stack the discounts, even though as you can see that it says that nowhere on the site and its even encouraging stacking discounts by putting them all in the same section. After some back and forth he goes on his phone mid conversation with us, which was insanely rude, and even closed the door on his wife who was agreeing and says how he isnt trying to pay us to golf, which is ludacris considering we payed a grand for 4 birdi cards and over 2 grand a person to golf for 4 months which is over a full season membership at most courses. Tells us how they were planning on cancelling the loyalty program anyways and this would just speed up the process, which it is now gone, just so you know if you do own a birdi black you no longer have loyalty points adding up. Hopefully they let people keep the ones that they've gotten, but unfortunately it sounds like if u bought your birdi black before jan 1 they would've reset already. Overall, super dissatisfied like many of the comments before me this place has great potential but slow staff, uncoordinated bays leaving long waiting times, and dysfunctional management have my friends and I going to Xgolf until the seasons started. I wish everyone goodluck and hopefully you dont encounter...
Read moreI used to frequent this place regularly when they first opened but but now they've become more of a "corporatized/chain" environment and after yesterday, it just reiterated to me why I haven't been in so long and most likely will not go back. First let's start with booking a tee-time...the website states they close at 10 so a 730pm-930pm tee-time should work!? Well I guess the girl on the phone was informed while on the phone with me that they were closing at 9...but ok, no problem we booked a 7-9 instead. We get there at 645 and waited until 7:10 to even get in our bay...the group prior was chillin, not golfing and the staff was oblivious until I had to say something. If you are a golfer or golf simulators regularly, you know that in 2 hours you can warm up in the range (2 people) & golf 18 holes in that time frame. Then they tell us we can start so we go into the bay. They didn't clean any of the tables or dishes from the group of 4 prior, heck they're checks with money were still sitting there even when we took the bay over. Took 30 minutes to get any service for a beer or anything for that matter and honestly the simulator is not that great. The surface you hit off from in bay 1 "wobbles" once it moves into position whether incline or decline and the simulator "glitches" between shots meaning the screen turns black for 3-5 seconds and then pops back on. When we got a beer finally, we asked about the glitch and the girl told us, "yeah, some of our projectors are a little broken, sorry". There is better simulators in the area with the same golf technology, staff that cares and a better environment overall. Oh, also they are cheaper by the hour also...if Birdi wants to charge 50 an hour for golf, at least take care of your equipment and keep it maintained/fully functional. P.S. Also let your staff/waitresses know...when a guest pays with cash, DO NOT ask if they want change, bring them they're change and let them tip you on...
