This is the third time and third location I have been to in the past three years. I fail to understand the appeal of Keys Café -- maybe it's lost on me since I am a transplant to the metro. The menu and atmosphere remind me of small town breakfast spots - esp the Woodbury location - but that's where the similarity ends. I fail to understand how Keys got so popular or how it managed to open so many locations.

The service has been mediocre at each location (downtown, Roseville, and most recently Woodbury). While the servers were polite they were not attentive (possibly because they were spread very thin). The hostesses seem very stressed and unhappy.

I have only ever been here for breakfast, but there is an abundance of options and none really sound (or arrive) appetizing. It is a large menu that makes ordering some pretty basic (and boring) food needlessly complicated. There is nothing especially interesting or notable about the food. Some plates arrive early, some plates arrive much later; food temperature varies. The quality of the ingredients is low to mediocre depending on what you order. I imagine the line cook(s?) must prioritize speed and quantity to compensate for lack of quality (which isn't necessarily their fault), and that is definitely reflected on the plate. Portions are ridiculously huge and I only take home leftovers to give them to my dog.

Next time I have a group of people that want to go out for breakfast, I am going to someplace that cares more about their staff...

A Cozy Corner for Comfort Food - Keys Cafe, Woodbury

Nestled in the heart of Woodbury, Keys Cafe offers a homely retreat with its comforting menu and friendly service. The cafe's philosophy of creating memorable experiences shines through with every dish served.

From the moment you step in, you're greeted with the aroma of fresh coffee and baked goods that promise a treat for the senses. The breakfast menu is a highlight, featuring classics like fluffy pancakes and savory omelets, each cooked to perfection. For lunch, the sandwiches are a must-try, especially when paired with their homemade soups.

The ambiance of Keys Cafe is casual and welcoming, making it an ideal spot for family brunches or a quick catch-up with friends. The staff's attentiveness adds to the charm, ensuring your meal is enjoyable from start to finish.

And let's not forget the bakery section, where the desserts speak for themselves. Whether it's a slice of the decadent pies or the signature cinnamon French toast, each bite is a reminder of the cafe's dedication to quality and taste.

Overall, Keys Cafe at Woodbury stands out for its consistent quality, generous portions, and the warmth that only a family-run establishment can offer. It's a local favorite for good reason, and a visit here is sure to leave you planning your next meal before...

This was my favorite keys Cafe, but after my experience on Saturday morning I will never return. The whole atmosphere was completely different. The host and waiters had I don't care attitudes, and when our food was brought out it was brought out cold. It taste like it had been sitting in the kitchen for awhile before being brought out, my husband's Belgium waffle was so cold the butter wouldn't melt and had the texture of a waffle that had been made previously and heated up. My brother in law and husband both ordered sausage that had to be taken back because they were ice cold. After being brought back you could tell they had got heated up in a microwave and the taste was very off. After that we decided we would rather not eat the food, spoke to a manager and thankfully didn't have to pay for a meal we couldn't even eat. After we left my husband and brother in law started throwing up and became very Ill for the last couple of days. I don't know what happened to this place, your charging outrageous prices for cold food that makes you sick. We will never go back! A little advice to keys café, get rid of your microwave and find a new cook. It would also be nice if you could give people fresh water. Not water that is poured in glasses way ahead of time sitting out on a tray. Needless to say you guys have a lot of...

I used to go to this location all the time. After The last couple times, I will NEVER go back again. The last time I got take out the food was awful and inedible, the mgr when we called in treated us terribly. Said they would send us a gift card for it. We spent $50 with tip and were sent 2-$5 gift cards. Which we were told we couldn’t even use on our next bill. Bc they had to be used for 2 - separate transactions. Today, we were in the area and stopped in to get a couple pieces of cake and pie, which are not cheap. The coconut cream pie is nothing like it once was. There was no graham cracker crust and the flavor was definitely off. Won’t be eating that. The cherry pie was nothing great either. I used to love this place but the prices do NOT reflect quality and the service is just not what we used to experience here. They used to take care of their customers and make sure things got fixed. I’ll be sure to stick to the other keys going forward. While reading other reviews this seems to be pretty standard now for Woodbury. Well bc of your lack of quality and lack of customer appreciation, you lost good customers and you’ll continue to lose them. It’s called the snowball affect. Bc I’ll tell 5 ppl who will tell 5 ppl. I’ve been in the industry 30 years, I know what customer is and this isn’t it.

We went there twice - the first time we only got baked goods - donuts and brownies were amazing, cupcake frosting was greasy? But overall very good so we were excited to go back and try the food. We had lunch there the next day, ordered a turkey BLT and the French Dip Special with a bowl of chicken wild rice soup. The plating was beautiful but that’s only one small factor. The meat was canned 😕 I can understand maybe for the soup but on the turkey sandwich?? The French dip was better however, that meat was good. The ranch was amazing 10/10 but the soup and the rest of the food was mostly bland. We decided to get a brownie and more donuts to go to try and save the experience but they must’ve left yesterdays baked good out bc now the donuts and brownie were stale. I’ll probably go back for a brownie every now and then bc they were good, even the stale one, but I won’t be dining in the cafe anytime soon. 🙂 honest review Edit: they said the turkey wasn’t canned, my bad. It was dry and not flavorful and seemed cooked in water so I assumed. 🙂 willing to give them another try for sure, maybe it was just the cook that day

This was a very good dining experience. Almost immediately after walking in the door someone came to seat us, and gave us our menus. About a minute later they asked if we wanted a drink, which is standard protocol for most restaurants, and after we ordered our drink they came right out with it and 5 minutes later they asked what we would like. I had asked for The Usual #1 with Bacon, Fried Eggs, and Wheat Toast. Almost immediately after I ordered the food was brought out, faster than a fast food restaurant. They even gave me an orange as a garnish, which I find funny because of my username. My meal was delicious, the grape juice I ordered was strong but not overwhelming, the jam they provided with the toast was just amazing, the best jam I've ever tasted. And it was relatively cheap, $10-20 per person. It was gonna be a 4/5 stars, but then I saw that they have pie so we bought some pie as we walked out and it was delicious. Definitely would recommend going here for almost any occasion.
