This is the third time and third location I have been to in the past three years. I fail to understand the appeal of Keys Café -- maybe it's lost on me since I am a transplant to the metro. The menu and atmosphere remind me of small town breakfast spots - esp the Woodbury location - but that's where the similarity ends. I fail to understand how Keys got so popular or how it managed to open so many locations.
The service has been mediocre at each location (downtown, Roseville, and most recently Woodbury). While the servers were polite they were not attentive (possibly because they were spread very thin). The hostesses seem very stressed and unhappy.
I have only ever been here for breakfast, but there is an abundance of options and none really sound (or arrive) appetizing. It is a large menu that makes ordering some pretty basic (and boring) food needlessly complicated. There is nothing especially interesting or notable about the food. Some plates arrive early, some plates arrive much later; food temperature varies. The quality of the ingredients is low to mediocre depending on what you order. I imagine the line cook(s?) must prioritize speed and quantity to compensate for lack of quality (which isn't necessarily their fault), and that is definitely reflected on the plate. Portions are ridiculously huge and I only take home leftovers to give them to my dog.
Next time I have a group of people that want to go out for breakfast, I am going to someplace that cares more about their staff...

Read moreThis was my favorite keys Cafe, but after my experience on Saturday morning I will never return. The whole atmosphere was completely different. The host and waiters had I don't care attitudes, and when our food was brought out it was brought out cold. It taste like it had been sitting in the kitchen for awhile before being brought out, my husband's Belgium waffle was so cold the butter wouldn't melt and had the texture of a waffle that had been made previously and heated up. My brother in law and husband both ordered sausage that had to be taken back because they were ice cold. After being brought back you could tell they had got heated up in a microwave and the taste was very off. After that we decided we would rather not eat the food, spoke to a manager and thankfully didn't have to pay for a meal we couldn't even eat. After we left my husband and brother in law started throwing up and became very Ill for the last couple of days. I don't know what happened to this place, your charging outrageous prices for cold food that makes you sick. We will never go back! A little advice to keys café, get rid of your microwave and find a new cook. It would also be nice if you could give people fresh water. Not water that is poured in glasses way ahead of time sitting out on a tray. Needless to say you guys have a lot of...
