KFC — Restaurant in Woodland

I’m writing this review out of sheer frustration and disappointment with the KFC located at 83 West Main St., Woodland, CA 95695. This was my fifth visit, and yet again, my order was wrong—just like every other time I’ve been here.

Last night, despite my past experiences, I decided to give this location another chance because my kids were craving fried chicken. I was the only customer in the drive-thru, yet my order still took an unusually long time. I spoke directly to the manager, who was working the drive-thru, and explained that my order had been incorrect every previous visit. She assured me it would be right this time.

After paying, I was asked to pull forward and wait. I specifically told the manager I would not move until I confirmed my order was correct. Still, she insisted. After waiting, my food was brought out, and once again, it was wrong.

I had to go inside—which I was trying to avoid by using the drive-thru. Inside, I stood at the counter for five minutes before anyone even acknowledged me. When I asked for the manager, an employee walked away, leaving me waiting even longer. Another worker, on a personal call in the back, casually approached and asked what I needed—without even putting his phone down. To make matters worse, I could hear employees talking about me, which was incredibly unprofessional and rude.

When the manager finally came, I expressed my frustration. I asked how such a simple order could continuously be made wrong and if I was somehow ordering incorrectly. She apologized but offered no real explanation. This was especially frustrating because when I initially ordered, I reminded her of my past issues, and she personally assured me my order would be right.

The lack of care and basic customer service at this location is beyond disappointing. Since moving to Woodland, my kids and I were excited to have a KFC nearby because it’s our favorite place for fried chicken. Unfortunately, this location is so unreliable that I now have to drive out of my way just to get an order done correctly.

This KFC is under new management/owners and that's not a good thing. Since the new people have taken over, prices have increased a few times, but service and quality have diminished. Also, the arbitrary canceling of items, that other KFC's continue to offer, including Apple Turnovers and the one low calorie, nutritious side that was offered, Green Beans. With the previous management/owners, there was always someone at the front counter ready to take an order, but with the new people, more often than not, you must ask loudly for someone to please come up front. Sometimes you're heard, sometimes not. They claim to have "simplified" the menu. Not for the convenience of customers, but more than likely, for the incompetent staff that couldn't understand the normal KFC menu. The previous management/owners would also honor the periodic KFC lower price promotions whenever offered, but not these people. It's sad that this KFC is being run so poorly and continue to overcook...

They have a sign outside, falsely claiming that they accept ebt. They don't actually accept ebt. They accept ebt cash only, which the sign doesn't specify. That's false advertising! & YES this is a problem when I've got food stamps, but not a dollar to my name, living in my car bc I had to pack up & leave a bad situation, & I'm pregnant, hungry, hungry especially for a hot meal, & go inside to inquire on the sign claiming to accept food stamps, and I'm having to see the menu, smell the food, see the food, & get told that what their sign says outside isn't so. Yes, that is a HUGE problem. But aside from that, this kfc location is pretty nice, & so are the people. The chicken always tastes like it was cooked in old grease, but the potato bowls are to die for. I recommend the mashed potato bowl w/ 2 packets each of butter, honey, & hot sauce.
