41 years of life, 22 years of military service, and over 25 countries later — I’ve lived on the East Coast, spent time in Japan, and now reside in San Diego. I’ve had donuts from Aliquippa, PA, to San Antonio, New Orleans, LA, and Seattle. I've had Canadian donuts, East Asia donuts, I've had a French Cruller in Paris, the largest yeast donut in Germany the size of my head! I’ve even given the so-called “giants” like Dunkin’ and Krispy Kreme a fair shot or the up and coming fresh to order Duck Donuts...but nothing, Absolutely NOTHING, comes close!

Donut Star is UNMATCHED! No gimmicks. No neon signs or overdone branding. Just pure, nostalgic, made-with-love, wake-up-early-and-pray-they-haven’t-sold-out-yet kind of donuts.

It’s more than just a shop — it’s where my love for donuts began. I’ve been a loyal customer since 1997, and now I get to share these same donuts with my kids every time we come into town. That’s something special, something those big-name spots can’t touch.

Worst place to get doughnuts. Showed up at 9 am and they had no doughnuts left. Ask manger when they would have more and he told me they were not making any more. Ask why and he said we don't make them here we make all of them at home and when we run out that's it. Also told me I should have been there earlier than 9 am.
