I have to say the atmosphere was very nice in this bistro. The food came out fast and it was delicious. The service was very underwhelming. We were greeted with a server left feeling very unwelcome, upon seating us stating “your server will be a while”. While recognizing restaurants can be busy and understaffed we were made to feel we were a bother when asking questions about the menu and in reply given smart remarks in belittling us. When asked if we want desert we were hoping to have the crème brûlée. We were told sorry we are out of that along with other item on the menu that night. When expressing disappointment in this out waiter Dave stated, “well people like you need to stop coming to our town”… then corrected himself stating, “the last few weeks we have been slammed and busy then running out of things in the menu.” After deciding that we didn’t want desert we asked for our bill and left what we thought was a tip to reflect there service. After asking to talk to a manager the server that sat us said very controversially with what was wrong with the service “when expressing we felt “ underwhelmed with the service” he defensively stated they are very busy. We then were informed that Dave that served us was the general manager. We then dismissed ourselves wanting to avoid further confrontation, we the approached the front desk to ask to talk to another manager. Then we were approached outside the restaurant with aggregation by both Dave and the server pressing us to argue with them. Then Dave aggressively threw our tip at us and stated he didn’t want our tip, it was honestly embarrassing and left us without words. We swiftly left to avoid any further escalation. Read moreI used to love coming here until today. I tried reserving a table through the open table app. The lady at the front desk that checked us into our room said to do this. No mention of all reservations being completely booked. On this date October 20th, 2025, a Monday, many apps and websites were experiencing outages and glitches because of software issues so I assumed maybe that’s what could have been going on. I tried calling from my room. And it went to voicemail. I went downstairs from my room to the Bistro and saw a familiar face. It was the manager that works there. I remember him because he gave my family and I great service in the past. So much so, I left a very generous tip and shook his hand before leaving last time. Although today, when I went to ask about why there was no availability I was met with a smug condescending answer of “why do you think there isn’t any”. Our appetizer came out in only a few minutes and was ice cold in the center. Our entrees were equally as disappointing. Steak was served nearly raw in the center and chicken was chewy and tough to eat. Most of the food tasted like it had just been microwaved. Server checked in on us immediately after our food had been delivered and was nowhere to be seen the rest of the night giving us little chance to raise our concerns. The drinks were good but our server had no knowledge of what was on tap and we had to ask the bartender for clarification. Save your money and find somewhere else to eat in Woodstock.
