It smelled really wonderful when I walked in, baking bread smell, which is always a good sign! They have cases of goodies on either side and it was hard to decide what to get. Couldn't tell you the proper name for most of what I did get, except for the churro. But each pastry was delicious. The churro was crispy but soft and chewy on the inside and had cherry filling - didn't know you could stuff a churro, but what do I know, lol. Whatever this cookie was it was perfectly sweet and crumbly and had a great pecan taste. It was also weirdly powdery when you bit into it, but in the very best way possible. The elephant ear, that's what I call it, was huge, flaky, crispy caramelized perfection. Those were my favorites, but everything was good, and I got out of there for under $10 so I was very happy. Parking right across the street, bright and clean inside, friendly service. Check it out!

This is the BEST pan bakery I have ever been to. As crazy as it may sound, this one was far better than the one I went to in Mexico City. The Cubiletes de Queso at El Trpeyac Bakery are like none I ever had, I make sure to get one (or two) of these every time I stop in.

Surprised to find a panaderia here in historic Woodstock. Great selection and tasty bread!

If you are looking for authentic Mexican pastries, this little hole in the wall is the place to go. I absolutely love this place and have been coming here religiously for about 10 years or so, since it opened really. This is not an over priced or luxurious place but the baked good are outstanding. If I had to give this a grade I would give it an A. Because of the fallowing: the price, customer service and baked goods. I can walk out with two full bags of baked goods for under $15. The women that is working the front desk is very friendly as well. Since I have been visiting this place for a while she always goes out of her way and askes me how my family is doing. The baked goods are very authentic as well. Both my parents, whom grew up in Mexico City, love this place. If native Mexican are eating this, you know...

From the outside, the bakery is very unassuming just off the square. The inside is drab and looks “industrial” without a lot of charm, but the baked goods are so fresh and delicious! What a jewel and one of McHenry County’s best kept secrets. I don’t know the names of all the Mexican pastries, but they are amazing. And the raised donuts (sugar, chocolate frosted, and chocolate with sprinkles) may be the best donuts I’ve ever tasted - so light, moist and fluffy! I’m going to try the churros on the next visit. Give this place a try the next time you are in Woodstock - you won’t be...
