J&G Pastries — Restaurant in Woodstock

This place is by far the worst experiences i’ve had at any restaurant. Not only are the pastries stale and expensive, the service has been absolutely terrible. First thing i noticed was we walked in and there was not a soul in the building. No manager, no employees, nothing. So then we had to wait over 10 minutes before someone finally showed up to the counter without an apology or even acknowledging our presence. So i’m assuming that based off her dismissive nature, this is definitely not the first time she’s done this. We ordered 3 cinnamon rolls, and then she charged us for 5. when i asked her about it she immediately started getting defensive and yelling not only at me but also my kids that she knows how to work her machine and that if i couldn’t see that then i was in the wrong. After going back and forth for a while she finally realized her mistake and without an apology, quickly changed it and then said that it was always that price. The worst part was is that the pastries were terrible. I think i could’ve found a better cinnamon roll at walmart. We have been ordering custom made treats for special occasions since I moved here when my son was born. Not only do the cupcakes look adorable, they taste amazing! I don’t have many pictures because they get eaten before I remember to take a picture of them. My experience is always friendly, welcoming, and not once have I ever left the store dissatisfied with a treat. My son has a speech delay, but manages to ask for Cookie? Cupcake? Cake Pop? Came across J&G Pastries while checking out Woodstock downtown yesterday, been meaning to for decades. I'm glad we went yesterday because we found this jem. If you haven't tried them you should! Delicious pastries! We got the cinnamon roll 😋 cinnamon toast crunch cookie 😋 and a cake pop. All 3 so very delicious. The cake pop was in the shape of a pot of gold!
