Worst $135 ever spent. We had 5 people at our table. 3 had the “hot bar”, 2 had ribeyes. We started with the cheese curds that couldn’t have been fresh.. I’m sure they were sitting under a heat lamp just waiting to be ordered. When they arrived they weren’t hot- not even warm and the cheese was tough answer chewy. We asked for it to be corrected and the waitress brought them back to the table and said “sorry about that, he dropped them back in the fryer for a few minutes..” WHAT?? They didn’t even bother to remake new ones, just re-fry the old and by the time we got them the cheese had exploded everywhere! It was a giant mess. The hot bar was a joke. The food was lukewarm at best, nothing had flavor. We sampled a lousy strip steak, shrimp scampi that had absolutely no flavor, popcorn shrimp that tasted as if it came in a box from their local Walmart, and baked potatoes that hadn’t been cooked long enough. The ribeyes were ridiculous! My steak in particular was not fresh. It arrived at the table with a slight gray/brown tint. I lifted it off my plate and it stayed flat as a board with no give. (Mind you this was a mid-rare temp) Both of us mentioned this to the waitress when she asked how everything was and she apologized and came back and said she had informed some guy.. assuming it was the owner/manager, but no one came by our table to inquire. The best thing I ate all night was the Texas...
Read moreMy husband and I decided to stop in here on our way home. He's a big fan of steakhouses. The building looked nice and clean, big parking lot and easy access to Walmart, which is located behind it. We walked in and saw a sign to please seat yourselves..there was two waitresses by the front door. They asked where we were from and we told them close to Watonga, then we talked about our local Cheese Festival. They were so nice and welcoming. Then we found a small table by the wall. There is a TV on the wall showing a basketball game and was muted. We both ordered the medium ribeye medium-well with a baked potato, texas toast and a salad with two sweet teas. The salad bar is huge with lots of options available..even some soups at the end. We just about got filled up from the salad when our main entree arrived. We had two waitresses keeping our teas filled and asking if everything was alright, very attentive. The Ribeyes were cooked perfectly, the baked potatoes came with a package of sour cream and we could load them up from the salad bar. Everything was so delicious! While we were eating crowds of people started showing up for dinner and they opened up an extended dining area. We were stuffed but I wanted to take some peach cobbler home with me so we got that and some to go cups for our drinks. There is semi truck parking so my husband was pretty proud of that..we'll...
Read moreWe will definitely be back to this one if we get the chance. It has a salad bar, a hot bar,or you can order from a full menu. My husband had the hot bar , which included a trip to the salad bar, rolls or Texas toast, and cobbler. He chose a grilled pork chop, smoked sausage, baked beans and corn on the cob. I chose unlimited trips to the salad bar which included muffins, and pudding for dessert. The lettuce was fresh and crisp with many options for additions and dressings. There were 4 pasta salads,2 potato salads, a sauerkraut salad, a corn salad, a black eyed pea salad, even a jello molded salad— you get the picture. Lots of diversity. So refreshing after the pandemic buffet/salad bar drought. Our bill was under $25. Oh yes, the food was good and our server was very attentive. And P.S. They give a free piece of taffy on...
