If I could give this place a negative star I would, but google doesn’t allow you to post a review without giving a star. I called to order my food the guy who answer the phone was having a different conversation with somebody else while trying to take my order. I had to keep saying hello 5x before I could get his attention. I ordered my food finally my husband went to pick it up he said he stood there waiting for the guy at the register to notice him because his focus was on the television more then the customer standing in front of him. My husband comes back with the food and I open it taste the food and it’s wrong I ordered peanut soup and they give my husband palm nut soup. I called to informed them the guy who answer the phone tells me they don’t have no peanut soup so I said then why when my husband asked for my peanut soup he wasn’t informed that there were none? His reply was I don’t know. So I asked to speak with the manager and he tells me the supervisor isn’t available. He then give the phone to another guy who comes on the phone and argue with me about what I’m eating. This is my first and last time getting food from this establishment. If I was allergic to palm nut I would’ve had a terrible reaction. This is the first establishment where I call as a customer to complain and I’m arguing with the employees and no apology was offered nothing except “ok we don’t know how it happen” terrible customer service. This is exactly why African restaurants don’t stay open long. This is experience for me was horrible I don’t recommend this place. To whoever that runs this place you need to talk to your employees about customer service and turn the television off because apparently the television is more important...
Read moreI am highly disappointed in this restaurant now. I was a native to Worcester before moving to Minnesota. I always ate at anokye cause they WAS the best. Minnesota doesn’t have any Ghanaian restaurants so anytime I come to visit Worcester, I always order here and than I would take some good back with me to Minnesota. On Friday (7/10/2020). I had just arrived in Worcester and decided to go to anokye. I ordered $40 worth of food. The cashier said 20 mins. I returned in 30 and STILL had to wait an additional 10 mins. That’s fine. I take the food home and only ate this food picture below all day. Okro and banku. This was at about 5 pm. The banku was soft and sticky. The Okro smelled and tasted burnt. The okro wasn’t properly cut to fit the stew. I managed to eat 3 bits of the banku and threw it away. I ate about half the okro stew with regular fufu. By 5 am...I had diarrhea. For about 24 hrs...I was ill. At first I didn’t suspect the food. But the next day (Saturday) after I ate it, my mom decide to eat some with the other food I ordered. She too experience the same thing I did along with my 6 yr old sister. When we asked fellow Ghanaians about banku and okro...they told us that the picture isn’t how it’s properly prepared. Some even said that anokye isn’t good. One even said that the banku was probably leftover and stale that was sold to me because it’s not suppose to be sticky. We threw everything we bought from anokye out. I’m so highly disappointed in them now. They have always been good but they have now lost a customer. During this virus...let’s be mindful of where we eat and what we...
Read moreWorcester is a very diverse city blessed with many different countries present. As a city with many Ghanian people there are several restaurants that offer what can easily be the best food you've ever had. UNFORTUNATELY Anokye Krom isn't one of them. For a restaurant with 2 locations, you'd think the food would be out of this world. I went to the new location off Park Ave and I DO NOT RECCOMEND. With the exception of a beautiful ambiance, there was nothing good about my experience. For starters the menu has NO PRICES so basically they can charge you whatever they want after you order. Despite this RED FLAG I went on to order. I settled for grilled tilipia and jollof rice as I've come to learn jollof rice DEFINES a Ghanian restaurant. However the food was honestly terrible after 3 bites this meal had to be tossed in the TRASH. The jollof rice was burnt and tasted as if someone just dropped tomato paste with rice and half cooked it. The grilled tilapia was dried out and difficult to eat. Ended up wasting $18 dollars on a meal I could've got from Accra Girls or even Gold Coast for a better price and portion with phenomenal taste. I cannot express enough how extremely disappointed I am with this "Authentic Ghanian" food. It truly gives a bad reputation to such a rich beautiful country. Lastly, this has been by FAR the worst Ghanian food I've ever had. I DO...
