My family and I had a disheartening experience recently. One of my family members signed up for the email coupon program that Antonio’s offers using her Worcester address, and received a coupon for buy 1, get 1 off pasta dishes. Mind you, we have used these coupons several times before with no issues. Today, when we tried to order our pasta dishes, our waitress questioned the coupon, asking to take the phone out of her hand to show to the manager, which was inappropriate in itself. I don’t feel comfortable giving my phone out and watching it be taken out of my sight, and clearly it made my family member uncomfortable too. When the waitress asked for her phone, she even said, “Uhm, okay…” When the manager returned with the phone, he told us that the coupon was only allowed to be used at another location of the restaurant, since the coupon mentioned that it had been emailed from the Pawtucket location. We then mentioned that we are Worcester residents, signed up for the program from Worcester, never selected or have been to the Pawtucket location, and have been able to use the coupons previously. Even then, the manager implied that we were in the wrong. We felt dismissed, shamed, and embarrassed, and decided to leave without eating. Afterwards, we inspected the coupon and no where in the email did it mention it could only be used at one location. Perhaps the Pawtucket location is the one that handles the email system, but in the disclaimers at the bottom of the email it did not list that it was solely for that location. I don’t believe the staff even attempted to enter the coupon into the system, which is unfortunate because after inspection, we found that the previous coupons we have used had the same Pawtucket address at the bottom and worked just fine. Never a good feeling to be blamed for something you had no...
Read moreThis was the WORST experience I've ever had. I'm so mad that I'm writing my first review ever. I ordered a pizza and chicken fingers for delivery.. not only did it take 15 mins to order it with the person who answered the phone he couldn't seem to understand anything so I made him repeat my order my address and card back to me several times. I then was quoted that my food would arrive in 20-30 mins seeing as I live down the street and ordered a small order. Next thing you know an hour and a half goes by and I'm beginning to wondering where my food is because they are now closed. I get a text saying my order would arrive shortly.. another half hour has gone by and I've called the store numberous times and the number that texted us. I finally get an answer at the store and the man tells me I didn't answer my phone or door.. mind you my phone is right next to me and we are waiting by the door. He argued with me and gave me a attitude saying we're not getting our food they are closed and basically oh well THEN HUNG UP ON ME.. what kind of business is this? I don't even think they even wrote down my number correctly. I was told I would be refunded and I check my bank statement and I was charged TWICE!!! I expect a phone call a apology and MY MONEY BACK. This is so unprofessional. Worst experience I've ever had. I will not eat here again neither will my friends who have also had bad experiences! If you want a piece of advice don't eat here. If I could rate this a negative...
Read moreI’m going to preface this review by saying that I’m a bit of a pizza snob and my idea of great/amazing/rave-worthy slices are in the realm of Frank Pepe, Joe’s, Lombardi’s, etc. — essentially your New Haven/New York style of pizza. For pizza snobs like me, know that Antonio’s is not for you. That’s not say their pizza isn’t “good”, but it does depend on what you’re looking for. If I’m comparing slice to slice on just your average cheese pizza, then Antonio’s falls starkly at a solid 5/10 (or average). Otherwise, it’s a decent pizza place with fancy “gourmet” slices that are meant to wow and cater to the college town.
Where this restaurant specializes is loading bland thin crust pizzas with increasingly flavorful toppings. If you’re crust folk, sorry then this place isn’t for you. If you’re good with fancy toppings that make some pizza photo worthy, then you’re at the right place. My top note-worthy pizzas from here are the potato bacon, buffalo chicken, chicken quesadilla, honey bbq chicken with ranch, and avocado quesadilla. They’re just the ones that I’ve tried that make the most sense and have a good taste/texture to them. They’re also pizzas that I find are the most popular in my friend group and are constantly requested on repeat when whenever I’m doing group orders.
TL;DR – come here for wild flavors of pizza, know that it does not meet top tier...
