It would be a solid four or five stars if they kept the repairs up. There has been a boarded up slide for over 8 months now on the spiral slide. There are public restrooms but they are pretty much never open. They have responded to this complaint with a general use public porta-john that has been there for about 6 months now. It reeks and is super gross. At least they keep the hand sanitizer pump refilled regularly. There is a noticeable leak coming from the bottom of it as you can see the moisture follow the grade of level on the ground nearby. On the plus side it is a great scenic interior where you could walk for miles around and around. There are some great free concerts over the summers and the playground has a squishy-soft rubbery weather proof material that breaks falls of children. Doesn't mean you shouldn't 👀watch your kids though. Some.of the construction is pretty high up and they can still get hurt from the fall and bump into other kids. The playground fires pretty well after rainstorms and handles drainage from winter snow pretty well too. Make sure you keep the kids close as there is lots of water nearby and it is not fenced. The scenic/iconic bridges and "art in the park" over the summers paired along with the natural wild life ( several types of birds such as storks, 🐸 frogs & 🐢 turtles, make this place very picturesque with the tree foliage in the background. It would be fitting to set up a fitness...
Read moreGorgeous, large park in the heart of the city complete with large playground & beautiful scenery. Plenty of benches, picnic tables. Also a lovely bridge that you can walk over that overlooks a pond that often has ducks or swans taking a swim. Plenty of trees & shade in Summer also, plus grassy spaces to let your energy out. Perfect for children & families, or anyone just looking to enjoy a nice, peaceful place. Great spot for a gathering with family or friends, or a picnic. Off street free parking available. If you have trouble finding a spot, you could also park across the street @ Price Chopper (but you'd have to cross the street, crosswalks are available). My only complaint is that the restrooms do need to be cleaned! Other than that, it's a great place & very clean, well maintained park. Trash receptacles are located throughout, so no litter is scattered about. In the Summer months, they often have a food truck that sells hot dogs, french fries & more for really reasonable prices, so that you can enjoy a nice lunch or snack, without even having to leave the park. Once I also saw some people show up that were offering free lunches for children of all ages. Absolutely free. No catch. No identification or anything else required. It was part of some type of Summer program that the city had. Overall, this is definitely one of my favorite parks & the nicest one in the city of Worcester for sure! Free to enjoy. Great...
Read moreI come here about 2-3 times a week for the past month and always between 9am-12pm. Now for the past 7 years that I've lived in Worcester I've heard nothing good about Elm park, but mostly, that it isn't a safe place to go alone. So my experience has been this, peaceful, full of nature, friendly people, clean and most of all safe. Most visits here I sit down on a bench facing the pond and meditate, eyes closed and open, then I'm able to watch the small birds chase a hawk, while in the pond you glance over and see the splash of a fish and i have yet to see so many squirrels. For a park that's surrounded by streets it's as if Ive hit the mute button, I'm pretty sure this is because of my choice of seating but there's plenty of benches and grass for everyone to enjoy the same peaceful visit. 90% of the people that I have encountered here are doing their Run/Walk laps, having lunch with friends, reading a book and laying on the lawn, enjoying time with their kids and grandkids at the playground and swings. But my favorite part of all Elm park was the incredible feeling of being safe. Please remember that I've just recently started coming to Elm park and always at the same time. Be sure to always pick up after yourself. Let me know how your visit goes and please comment with...
