Take out Chinese food restaurants are seldom visually appealing, but this place is the epitome of a hole in the wall. A place any normal person would see and keep walking. I was getting desperate in my attempt to find decent Chinese take out in Worcester so I braved a visit.
Walking in, I found it somewhat busy, a good sign. I placed an order for a Shrimp and lobster sauce combination dish and house Lo Mein. The woman who took my order was very nice. After ordering, looking around there were advertisements for cigars and cigarettes for sale. Hmmmm....
Food was prepared quickly and I left to go eat my meal. Opening the container I was greeted with yellow rice. Yellow Chinese fried rice. Yellow. I prefer what seems to be an extinct cooking technique of dark fried rice, but I have never seen yellow rice (except "spanish" style). Also in the container was one overcooked chicken wing and a small amount of overcooked little strips of "spare ribs". In a separate container was the shrimp and lobster sauce. Good point, it had shrimp. Bad point, the "sauce" was more soup than sauce. I don't get shrimp and lobster sauce often, but never had I seen it so runny.
I used the sauce (soup) to moisten the rice and ate the shrimp. The rest of the sauce (soup) was discarded. I gnawed the dry chicken wing and gave my teeth a workout on the pork. I can't say it was the worst tasting Chinese I ever had, but probably the most visually unappealing.
I had the Lo Mein the next day reheated. It tasted... ok. A few shrimp, and a small amount of tiny pieces of chicken and pork. A few pieces of onion and carrots. 95% noodles.
Will certainly not return. Happy House nearby has better food (though the quality has been slipping in recent times). Still though, I haven't found one Chinese take out in Worcester that I'd...
Read moreReally disappointed, we have a best Chinese down the road on Lincoln Street some of the best Chinese on Lincoln!... We had no idea the food would be so different. Both of our 66. Chicken in Orange Flavor and CD5. Sweet & Sour Chicken were dried out. When I say dried out you could tell just by looking at the outside batter.
My orange chicken didn’t even look like chicken white meat it had a brown/dark meat color. The flavor was also bitter not a sweet or spicy orange sauce at all. My girlfriend's golden chicken batter looked old. How can you mess up Chinese chicken fingers? We will not order again, can't believe I spent like $40 just to throw it away. I am confused because I had the Singapore noodles before and it was great but our chicken...
Read moreThere are so many Chinese food restaurant's in the city, it's always hard to choose 1. I've been living here for many years and have had the chance to eat at most places around, including surrounding towns. I've always found myself coming back here. There food is always very good, and the taste doesn't change, so you know what you're getting. I've loved this place for years and will always continue to come back as long as it's the same owner. Who is very nice by the way. Also aside from Chinese and English, he speaks Spanish, which is really cool. I'd recommend this...
