Eggroll Lady and Fish Shack — Restaurant in Worcester

I have loved this place for the last 5 years. Love it never ever had an issue until last night. Was told 30-40 mins. Arrived 45 mins later and waited another 45 minutes. I saw people who where walk ins order in front of me and leave before me. Now not a problem as I’d prefer hot seafood and we’ve never ever had an issue ever. Everything has been top notch. Until last night. Ordered 5 egg rolls, scallop pint usually about 15-18 over sized scallops and beer battered fish and chips. I broke into the fish when home 2 bites in doughy not cooked beer batter as the wife is enjoying her scallops she is 3 in she says is this cooked? I have been a chef and fry cook in the past and went to culinary school as well take said scallop and like jelly, the yellow scallop fat was still liquidy and they where not cooked at all out of 18, 2 where done. So we put under broiler to cook up. And that wasn’t the only issue. I believe they are bad scallops or left out on counter to long and I am writing this review from the porcelain drop box the wife had the 3 and was smart her father though not so much he ate them all and has been up all night and as for me the doughy beer batter I did pick it off but as well I am stomach sick from it. And we like I’ve said in 5 years no issue. Very disheartening as now we are weary to eat again and we always eat here but do not want the same experience. Now which I’ve never done I’ll have to check my food before we go like you do at McDonald’s....

After checking out some local spots online, we came across this Gem, The Eggroll Lady & Fish Shack. I've eaten in a lot of spots that cater to different types of Korean/Vietnamese/Chinese and so on. One thing I can say about this spot was the fantastic taste and quality of the food that literally had me stop and tell my Wife how amazing it was. I tried their summer special, Crepes with shrimp and pork belly with fresh cilantro and mint leaves, put together with soy bean sprouts, which was then given with a sweet/spicy sauce which brought everything together. that left me in a state on awe, as not many eating spots can do this effectively. My sister ordered the fried cod, which was amazing and my wife devoured the shrimp which was absolutely cooked fresh. Before our meals, we dived into some egg rolls and now..I've decided on this place as my new spot on the weekends! I completely raved about it while there and to my amazement met the Eggroll lady herself! Fantastic experience, excellent food and a great feeling of fresh cooked food! The staff was just as great, as they provided insight to the dishes as well. Holy mother of all that is fried seafood.

My husband and I stopped on our way back home from our annual stay in Maine back in July. My husband had this place started on his maps and list of places to go and things to eat.

We decided to order the Fisherman’s platter which contained everything and felt like a good sampler to see what’s what. We also ordered an egg roll (Note: the egg rolls are not vegetarian nor pescatarian)

We were greeted by a wonderfully friendly and cheery gentleman who helped us make our ordering decision including the type of breading he felt best (original is the way to go!)

We grabbed a picnic table out front and luckily we were sitting down when our platter was delivered as it was a sight to behold and an amount of food that would take anyone’s breath away.

The food was OUTSTANDING and the service was WONDERFUL. Egg roll Lady and Fish Shack has been added to our travel agenda as a staple/must go to whenever we drive through Worcester again in the future.
