George's Bakery — Restaurant in Worcester

My most recent visits have not been satisfactory. I came in and purchased what I thought was fresh mini spinach pies and when I got home to eat them they had been previously frozen. The feta cheese was hard and the outer dough was discolored, hard, dry and tastes terrible. The visit prior I bought the lentil soup. It was so salty I called to let them know i think someone dropped the bottle of salt in the lentil soup and never took thr salt out. It was so salty I had to throw it out. I wpudl.if returned it but I live a town over and it wasn't worth my time. I feel nothing is thrown out all that dont sell goes in the freezer and brought out for resale. Its gone down hill. Prices are outrageous. The kibbee balls where extra salty. Im not sure who's added all the salt but they need to pump the brakes on the salt. This place has gone downhill. I've shopped here for 35 years as I live on Grafton Hill. The prices have skyrocketed. Some of the food is ok. Recently purchased Baba ganoush -- too much lemon and salt. And it was watery. Won't buy it again. Two types of mini pizzas were unbearably salty. I called tonight to complain and no offer was made to make me a satisfied customer. They stopped including pine nuts with their kibbe balls years ago citing high cost but you can have them included for a price and special order. Their dessert prices are through the roof. The food here is magnificent and the ladies at the counter beyond nice -but- check your orders carefully. Two times now I drove two hours from Cape Cod to pick up my food (that’s how delicious it is), and both times something is missing. Last time the Spinach Pies, and today no grape leaves. Dad and I are bummed but we are still enjoying the Koosa and Malfouf. The Kaik also is EXACTLY as my Sittoo made it.
