Huck Finn Restaurant — Restaurant in Worth Township

Having lived in the area as long as I have, I had only eaten at Huck Finn's once for takeout, and whenever my mother would being their donuts for my kids.

That said, my mom and stepfather have been coming here for years for breakfast, and yesterday was a family affair as nine of us sat down to enjoy a Huck Finn's breakfast!

Walking in, the place is a bit dated, kind of an old-school diner vibe, but for me, long as the food is good, I can dig it! So I will now focus on what I had, and what my wife had: I enjoyed the Becky Thatcher breakfast (with all crispy bacon), a side of grits, and the cinnamon roll French toast, and my wife enjoyed the Denver omelette.

My breakfast was awesome! The French toast was presented as cinnamon rolls, not too sweet, yet sweet enough to indulge in its decadence. Honestly, with that dollop of whipped cream on top, no syrup was needed. The Becky Thatcher breakfast was awesome, eggs were perfect as was my beloved bacon!! My wife's Denver omelette was great; she said they definitely give you your money's worth!

My only slight ding was that the grits were very watery. Grits are not supposed to have that liquidy consistency, and I wish they were thicker. As such, I would suggest to ask the customers if they want their grits thick or thin so that everyone gets what they want.

One more thing: our server, Sylvia, was GREAT!!! She was friendly, attentive, accommodating, and all around just a nice person. So to the Huck Finn management: give that woman a raise!! She has definitely earned it!!!

Anyhow, my wife and I will be back! Peace and love!!

I used to come here as a child with my father and/or grandparents on our way to Marquette park for some quiet morning/early afternoon fishing expeditions. I have very fond memories of delicious breakfasts and hearty lunches. I always truly loved Huck Finn and the tradition continues...

I won't go into too many details of the actual snafu, but I will explain the position, outcome, and the reason for my utmost respect for this location. I ordered item A via Door dash and item B arrived. I called the restaurant and explained the situation. They acknowledged the problem and IMMEDIATELY agreed to correct the problem. They remade my correct order, item A. Due to a mishap in communication, I was unable to receive the order.

I'm currently in nearby Christ hospital so I have to rely on others to help me. My nurse attempted to find the order but was unable to do so. Ultimately, she was able to contact the restaurant and once again Huck Finn came through and placed together the correct order. A quick pickup later from my wonderful nurse and I was feasting upon nirvana.

This restaurant didn't have to go above and beyond the call of duty for an old man having such a bad day, but they did and I will forever be in their debt. It was the most delicious meal I've ever eaten and I will be coming back once I've fully recovered.

To the staff of this restaurant, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I needed a pick-me-up so bad and you passed with the flying colors of a billion rainbows meshed together and stretched across a beautiful, blue sky. I cannot wait to dine-in and to once again experience the pure deliciousness that you offer.

You guys are amazing, please never forget that.

Simply giving this place one star due to the fact that I was PROFILED! Myself and two friends decided to grab a bite to eat late night for our FIRST TIME HERE and our billed averaged 40.00 for a strawberry shake ( 4 pancakes, 6 sausage links , 2 bacon , 4 eggs + cheese ) the billed totaled 39.40 . Waiter presented us with the bill and stated that it was no rush . The cash payment + TIP was left on the table with the ticket . After waiting 15 minutes for the waiter to collect payment we decided to leave . The payment + tip was left on the table … As we are headed to the parking lot the manager walks out with two police officers whom was sitting at the table next to us and yells “ You guys didn’t pay !! You’re trying to leave with out paying” . I simply ask him to walk back in the restaurant to show him where the payment is placed . Before I can get back to the table , the waiter picks up the ticket/payment and stated “ OH HERE IT IS !” I stated that it was very rude for you to assume that we didn’t pay before communicating with your staff and actually checking for a payment . The manager George and the waiter who assisted us yells in the restaurant while other customers were being served “ WELL YOU SHOULD HAVE BRUNG IT TO THE REGISTER” . This was not communicated to us during our visit here . No one said anything about walking to a deserted register on the other side of the restaurant — But you assumed that we didn’t pay and and didn’t even attempt to check for payment . I will not be back here or any other locations . I’m very sorry that I had to encounter such an awful experience. As a professional Mystery Shopper , this wasn’t a pleasant experience!!
