Went in today to eat and the first thing that was off was that it was not advertised online that today would be an all day dinner menu, meaning no lunch special, it would be 30.99 for one person to eat in today. It could’ve been a mistake on their end or deceptive marketing to make people visit thinking it would be a lunch special when it would’ve been full price.
The actual meal and service varied. It took a while to get situated with drinks and the iPad set up, which is an issue since there is a 2 hour limit to eating there. When the iPad was set up, our table put in orders as we did when we visited before, but a sign of an issue first started when we ordered 4 soups and only received 2, and had to ask runners to bring out the rest of our order. While an excuse can be made that it was because Memorial Day could’ve caused a short staff, it was observed that other tables that had more Asian patrons received orders quickly and all at once. Our table ordered a moderate amount of food and we were provided our order sometimes all at once or sometimes one plate at a time while other tables with Asian patrons received full orders, even ones who arrived after we had. Observing the tables around us, non-Asian patrons seemed to have a slower food service as well compared. Family of 2, 4, and 6 Asian patrons received orders quickly and efficiently, so there was no excuse why we couldn’t have had the same service. We’ve gone here multiple times before and the main difference I saw was more Asian patrons eating at the restaurant, which may have caused the restaurant to lean quality service in their direction vs our non-Asian table.
In 2 hours, we had multiple plates of meat not being serviced, multiple dishes not being serviced, missing soups that we needed to cook our meat not being serviced, and just poor communication between the food runners and our table. It took 30+ minutes to get a bowl of plain white rice served. It is unacceptable. Our server was fantastic and tried to check in the kitchen for us and did get our food processed, but the kitchen still slowed down on giving us our food after our server told them to give our table our food. I believe all people should be served equally, and if the restaurant is not equipped to do so or has a bias towards certain people who attend over others, limit the amount of people who can eat in. And maybe, charge a lunch special price if there is not enough staff to provide the service...

What we had an issue was service. We were 7 so got tucked away in a party room away from the main crowd. It took the server 15+ minutes to get us started, 20 minutes for fountain drinks, never got some of the utensils we needed, and only showed up in the beginning and end where I had to go up to the host stand to ask for someone to come and help us and even then took 15+ minutes. We had many plates stacked up, hot pots needing more soup added, cups empty, and more importantly a grill that needed replacing for a long time. It felt like “this table already has gratuity so I don’t need to pay much attention.” I wish we could’ve gotten the gratuity taken off because he didn’t even do the minimum (I’ve worked at one) and instead I’d rather give it to the food runners (plus ordering was through the tablet that’s how we was able to only show up a little). He had told us we’re short staffed today. So then that’s also managements problem… there was no actual host (different people coming to the front to host) and every time I looked towards the bar (where I last saw our server) it was someone different and at least three people making the drinks. It seemed like either no bartender or the bartender is not doing their job right or manager didn’t assign things correctly for their bartender. Just very inefficient. Another thing was it took very long for the orders to show up and it has a high chance of missing things and having wrong things. I understand some of it is to minimize waste but we’re a big table and left feeling like we still could’ve ate way more. For the last ditch effort to fill up more, we ordered more and it came looking like scraps that had fallen around the cutting machine that they scooped up and plopped on the plate. The amount was about one oz of meat… we gave up after that.
Advice since you’ve read this far haha. Either come in smaller groups or pray and hope you have lucky people in your group to summon a great server and...
Read moreMy recent visit to KPOT Korean BBQ & Hot Pot in Chicago Ridge was absolutely fantastic! From the moment we walked in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere set the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. The concept of Korean BBQ and hot pot under one roof is brilliant. It offers a variety of options for all taste preferences. We decided to try both, and we were not disappointed. The Korean BBQ selection was a meat lover's paradise. The quality and freshness of the meat were top-notch. The staff was incredibly helpful in guiding us on how to grill the meat to perfection. The self-serve banchan (side dishes) bar was a delightful addition, offering a range of flavors to complement our BBQ. The hot pot was equally impressive. The broth options were delicious, and the selection of ingredients was extensive. It was a fun and interactive way to enjoy a meal with friends and family. We appreciated the attentive staff, who were quick to assist us with any questions we had about the hot pot process. The service was exceptional throughout our visit. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive to our needs. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained, which added to the overall positive experience.
