X's & O's Sports Lounge & Grill of Palos Heights — Restaurant in Worth Township

Walked in with the wife and my son. Things started great. Alex (at least I think that’s her name based on receipt unless manager printed it when I complained) was our server and she didn’t really seem to care and gave absolutely poor service. We ordered an app and drinks. After we ordered our dinner it got bad. When dinner came we didn’t have silverware so we asked for that. My wife ordered wings which came out 15 mins after everyone else’s food. I’m convinced it was our server who didn’t seem to care. Finally the wings came out and we asked for the silverware again from Alex. I finally had to go to the bar to get silverware so my wife’s food didn’t get cold. We then never saw our waitress again until after 30 mins I went up to the bar to ask for a box and the check since apparently Alex didn’t want to help us or let us order any more drinks. She brought the check after the manager told her. She was not apologetic and it took her another 10 mins to come back and get credit card. We go here a lot and the food an atmosphere are great but that is the second time we had awful service. Unlikely we go back and we live right...

Went in for the burger special two weeks in a row. The first time there were no issues so much so that the waitress received a 33% tip on the bill. The following week is a whole different situation, raw onions was changed to grilled onions (no biggie, right) wrong they up charged the bill by $1.50. When it was brought to a waitress attention (not ours she was not on the floor at the time) she said "they do it at all restaurants" no they don't. So, they send the "manager" over and she said yes if you change the menu item there is a .75 charge for each change. My grip is they think it's okay to spend a patron's hard earned money. Their attitude was very flippant about the whole situation. It's amusing that the owners don't seem to even care after reading several negative reviews here on Yelp without any response. Moral of the story you can't trust that, one the waitress has had proper training and / or two they just don't care. I will now ask all wait staff if there are any "up charges"...

Generally we love this place. Their beer garden is awesome (when the weather is nice) and the staff is usually very attentive. The food is very good too. I only gave three stars because of our last experience.

We placed our drink order and told the waitress we would be sitting outside. She said that would be alright and came out a few minutes later with our drinks and asked if we were ready to order food. We told her we needed a few minutes and she didn't come back out to take our order for another 30 minutes. She had been talking the whole time with a couple regulars, and that's fine, but there were only 5 people in the entire restaurant. We told her we changed our minds and left to eat somewhere else.

This kinda tainted our experience, but we will be willing to give more stars and give them another chance, and hopefully our service...
