San Jose Mexican Grocery Store — Local services in Wright City

I have been looking for real authentic Mexican food/street tacos for a long time in Missouri. Closest thing I could find was St. Charles Rock road and tacos there were not the greatest. Two people recommended this place and I am so glad they did. Tried the steak tacos and tamales yesterday and made a huge order again today. The lady who cooks, makes everything fresh as you order. Even the tamales are made fresh daily. I recommend the green Chile chicken tamales and steak tacos. She even sells big containers of freshly made delicious salsa (spicy for the average "mild" person). I didn't go for the longest time because I didn't want to be disappointed by another place claiming they had the real/good food. I was not disappointed here and I I'll recommend to anyone and everyone. If you have a big order like we did, call ahead of time so you don'the have to wait. Only one person working with no kind of ppe on . Touching food with bare hands food open containers none of them closed. Before I could even open my mouth to greet the worker she said give her 20-30 min bc she had big orders , choosing to serve locals first. After waiting they didn’t have beans,rice, or agua de horchata.

A great, little Mexican grocery store, with an authentic restaurant with a limited, yet delicious menu. We loved the green chili homemade tamales. Rather plain though, since there weren't any condiments especially no salsa. I know they make a really good green salsa, and asked to purchase a container to take home. The cook said, "I'm cooking today, so no salsa. Come back tomorrow." We live 50 minutes away, so can't go...
