This is a German restaurant embodying maximalism at its best. There are decorations and dolls everywhere. It's impossible to look around at everything in one sitting. I have never seen such a visually interesting place in my life. Every square inch has something new to look at. A fun detail is that the waitress wears a gingham dress and old-style lace apron. It's complete immersion in a rustic, folk-style setting. The restaurant is homely and family oriented, perfect for bringing the whole family for the holidays. The decor could make this place a tourist attraction for doll lovers.

Food-wise, it's very filling portions. We ended up packing three boxes for two people. We had the pork cordon bleu schnitzel and veal/wienver schnitzel. The pork one was a giant round stout log, while the veal one was thin. Both were generously breaded and cooked perfectly, with a lovely pairing gravy. One of the schnitzels came with potato noodles, which were very tasty. I personally wasn't a huge fan of the soups we ordered, but my dad really enjoyed them. We also ordered potato pancakes, which are kind of like giant circular hashbrowns. They weren't bad, but personally weren't my favorite.

The strawberry cake we packed up for dessert seemed more like a turnover rather than a cake. Either way, it was incredibly tasty, with a generous amount of whipped cream and syrupy strawberries between flaky layers of puff pastry.

Service was prompt and our waitress cared a lot about explaining the dishes to us and making sure we were enjoying the food. I liked that we got a water jug to ourselves (I don't like having to wait for someone to pour water for me) and the water jug had lemon and some herbs in it, making it taste more flavorful and refreshing.

I think my main gripe is that the restaurant only takes cash, which is quite unusual post-COVID. There is an ATM outside, but I don't always have my debit card on me, and certainly not enough cash for the meal, so it's a bit dicey in my view. I'd definitely prefer an option to pay by card.

One item of note is that every 3rd Sunday of the month, there's a Sunday brunch which requires reservations, and they're skipping January due to slower business then. For non-peak times, you don't need a reservation, but the restaurant fills up quickly during peak times, so I'd recommend reserving just to be on the safe side.

Overall, this is a great place to bring the family, especially considering the price point. We (party of 2) paid $110 total including tips, and ordered far more food than we could finish, so I'd say that $20-$40 per person, depending on if you decide to get appetizers and dessert (which you may not, given how filling the mains are) is a reasonable amount to expect to pay. For that price point, you are not getting such an authentic German experience anywhere...

My family and I decided to try this place for a takeout change-of-pace during COVID after seeing all the positive reviews. My first complaint lies in the fact that their website does not list prices for any of their items and the prices listed on Tripadvisor and Yelp were significantly cheaper than what I ended up paying. When they told me the total price for everything on the phone, I was perplexed as to why it was so expensive. We ordered two entrees along with three appetizers and one side dish and the order somehow came out to $88 (after tax) when we thought it would be in the low-mid $60 range. When I arrived at the restaurant, the staff handed me a paper takeout menu to go over the pricing and told me "everything on the menu is now increased by at least $2". This included appetizers and entrees but what it really meant was appetizers had gone up by a minimum of $2 while entrees may have gone up as much as $4-$5. For instance, the Rahm Schnitzel was listed on trip advisor at $18.50 and they told me it is now $22.50 (an increase of nearly 22%). I am still unaware of the price breakdown for all the other items I ordered as the place is also doing a CASH ONLY business right now". I am not sure if this constitutes false advertising or not since all menus available to the public are significantly cheaper than current prices would otherwise indicate, including the paper menu handed to me at the restaurant which again, is not available on the restaurant's website. Aside from this issue, the staff was otherwise pleasant to deal with and included a Blueberry Strudel desert on the house for the price confusion. Now despite the extremely positive reviews, we were further disappointed by the food. While being cooked perfectly and having excellent texture with everything we ordered, we found the food and accompanying sauces to be incredibly bland in flavor. The Rahm Schnitzel (my entree) sauce just tasted like thick watery sauce with no seasonings added for what I was expecting and my mom said the bratwurst appetizer had no real flavor before the addition of the mustard sauce. Furthermore, the Blueberry Strudel clearly was made with canned blueberries, bleh. It should be noted the portions were large and would have certainly been fair the price had the food been more flavorful. We will be highly unlikely to return and would certainly not recommended Sebastian's with the current food quality and confusing price situation. The "false menu" I was given last night is posted below. It's as good of a guess as anything else out there...

Super weird experience. We went after bowling and the owner (?) asked if we had reservations. We thought that was odd and there were only 4 tables filled when we got there and many open. He was very odd and making a huge deal about reservations and being flirty with me and asking me to say hello. Kept making eye contact with me and almost staring at my face while brushing off and giving my boyfriend some rude humor. I swear I’m normal. Blond hair, blue eyes, petite normal woman. He asked my name and when I asked his name he said I can call him “handsome”. It was a total show and it made me feel nervous and edgy and I lost my appetite. He seemed to have an attitude with my boyfriend who by the way is 100% Hungarian. Boyfriend liked the goulash and stuffed cabbage. Pierogis looked and tasted like boxed and were white and bland. The potato pancakes were doughy and super hard. Red cabbage was perfumey and soggy. Only highlight of this positively hilarious experience was that our waitress Nicole was so very nice and a great server. Owner came over to give me a free sample of potato soup and asked if I don’t eat meat? Kinda wonder what was in that soup now. As boyfriend was taking money out of the ATM to pay because it’s cash only (red flag) owner touched my hand that was resting on the counter and said my nails were elegant and again mentioned about making reservations and showed me his book for the next night but also saying come back again…with a reservation. Ok guy, we get it. You think your place is all that. I felt like he thought he was doing us a favor letting us dine there. Meal was kinda pricy too. Boyfriend says he will go back, but not me. I’m creeped out by the owner who was not professional and his...
