Sportsman's has been a staple of Wyandotte and downriver pizza places for years. I best remember them for their lunch special. A pepperoni roll and pop for $5 or less. Don't let that fool you, though they are known for so much more. Starting with their ingredients. They have very good quality cheese which you can tell by the color and stretch of it, not to mention the taste as well. I've been in the store before and heard the owner talking about some of the ingredients in the past that were flew in that day or the day before, if I remember correctly, it was one of the pepperonis (possibly old world), but I could be wrong. Either way, when in the area, do yourself a favor and grab a pie or a roll from Sportsman's. Tonight, we ordered the Sicilian square. It's a small believe it or not. Also , cheese bread and regular breadsticks with marinara (a bit spicy for the little ones). The plain breadsticks were only $5, incredible. Cheesebread $9, and Sicilian $17 with the pepperoni as an extra topping. $30 not too bad for a family of 6.

Ordered a large cheese pizza, 2 pepperoni and cheese pizza rolls and 10 wings with a side of ranch. (Wings not pictured because I totally forgot) First time ordering from sportsman and I know my daughter won’t let it be the last! Starting with the pizza sawce, it has an old school taste to it, kind of thicker but not too thick. The cheese was yeah, cheesy! Everything has a very unique home style taste. The dough had a smell to like it was 1999 and mom just walked in with an armful of pizza! Everything was crispy and fresh and if you’re looking for a great tasting pie and a crispy pizza roll with some home made ranch too boot, give sportsman a call!

I’ve been ordering Sportsman’s Pizza Rolls for as long as I can remember. I always get the original, and have never been disappointed. I’ve had many friends try them for the first time and everyone has loved them. Funnily enough, I’ve never had actual pizza from this place. I can’t find the courage to order anything other than the original pizza roll. They are so big I usually eat half, and refrigerate the other half. If you reheat it in the oven at 350 for 25 minutes it comes out tasting as if it was fresh. If you are looking for something healthy, you might want to get McDonald's. This thing does not sacrifice grease for deliciousness.

I gotta say I've been ordering from here for years and I've always loved the food BUT today I made an order in store and while I was waiting I got to observe the young kid pizza maker, making the pizzas and other orders and sadly what I saw really disturbed me. I literally observed this young man doing all the orders BARE HANDED. after finishing one order he literally wiped his bare hands on his shorts then proceeded to grab new order tickets, open drawers and food storage areas grab raw dough to prepare new orders and all while bare handed.. never saw him wash his hands or wear gloves. Another young boy decided to now jump in and help make orders and guess what now they're both doing the same, I watched and did a mental face palm..while I did notice the females using gloves while handling food.. also noticed who seems to be the manager, an older gentleman wearing a camo hat walk back and forth with his arms crossed and seems like it's just normal procedure... I was shocked to just observe all this. But anyways I still decided to take my order but I don't know if I wanna continue to get food here after seeing that. I honestly love this place and their food but after seeing the way this young boys were handling food and touching everything else bare handed while prepping food.. it's making me reconsider... it's definitely cross contaminating and risking someone to get sick. I hope it doesn't happen. Hope incorporate better food handling procedures..I Hope the manager sees this and fixes it. I may try again soon and observe again and make an update. I love your food guys...

Do Not Recommend! Make sure to record your call/conversation when ordering from Sportsmans (they’re the reason I record all my calls with restaurants now when ordering)!!! I ordered from sportmans on speaker phone with my family all around (two pizzas and some bread), get to restaurant and get my order for it to be completely opposite of what we ordered, we called the restaurant back (on speaker phone again in front of everyone) to be told by their manager that “this is what you ordered, that’s what the girl on the phone heard and rang in, that’s what you ordered”. We all said she didn’t listen to me nor repeated the order back to us or we would of caught she wasn’t listening and ringing in the wrong order. They offered to make the right order but charge us for it again. When going into the store we were met with attitude as if we were the ones that messed up. Upon analyzing/talking with the community of my experience (three months ago -I waited to write my review as I felt bad for sportmans and the kids running it (fresh out of high school), but come to realize their owner, Todd, hires these kids (love the opportunity he gives these kids for work) but leaves it at that, for them to do as they please and treat customers the same while his time is spent out of state. After this experience we will never step foot in Sportmans again, after 15 years of our business with them as our pizza place these last 4 years have just gone downhill, this was...

We had not had a pizza from them in a while so ordered pizza and wings from Sportsmans. That’s where the issues began. First it was pretty overpriced & underwhelming for what we received. We ordered a large deluxe with extra cheese & a small hot wings. The pizza was overcooked & really did not have extra cheese. In comparison to the same pizza if ordered at Romas in Southgate the one at Sportsmans pales in comparison. As for the wings they were not bad but way overpriced. For a small order of wings they changed $12 then tack on an additional $2 just to make them hot. That’s $14 for a small order(10 wings). Who does that? Then to boot it was all drumette’s with no wingette’s. Then when I go to check out and pay for an already bloated & overpriced order they add insult to injury by hitting me with a service fee at checkout for using my Apple Pay(cards get it also). When I bring this up to Dayna at the front counter she was rude & argumentative. When I then spoke to the manager Todd and his attitude was more of the same. The way he speaks to & treats his employees is unprofessional at best. I normally order their pepperoni rolls for lunch through a coworker who usually picks them up. Needless to say I think moving forward I will be taking my business to another local pizza place. There are many excellent local places with higher quality, more reasonable prices & better customer service Downriver...
