Super positive vibes here. Good value diner food and a huge menu.
Cheeseburger - $8.25: One third pound patty cooked medium-well and juicy. Everything was well executed, fresh, and organized. The onion was a bit much, but I took a few layers from the center and it was just right.
Chips - (free with burger): Standard chips, probably from a bag. I would go with fries instead unless you only want the burger (which was the case for me).
They had HUGE monster cookies for $1.75 when we stopped. They also had cherry pie that day. I wanted to try their malt, but decided against it this time.
Service: Super friendly and immediate. They had their work well divided and understood. It was table service, but I never received my check at the table. I decided to just walk up to the register and pay, which worked fine. Not sure if that was how they just do it, but that is what I did. It was busy when we stopped, but they were on top of it.
Atmosphere: Classic diner feel. It looked a bit under impressive on the outside, but the inside was bright, cheerful, cozy, and clean. It was a bit on the smaller side. The table we sat at was a small two person by the front window (one on each side), but it was enough. They also have a diner counter with nine diner stools (used to be ten?) to sit at, which is cool. They also have smaller four person tables. If your party is larger than four, you will need to sit separately as they are all fixed in place.
Conclusion: Super welcoming diner style restaurant. I’d recommend it for a pleasant and valuable place to eat.

Read moreWe're visiting the area for a concert and stopped in based off of reviews. Overall very good visit, fast paced service in a classic diner-esque environment. Older building in a working class neighborhood, yet rather clean when you pay attention. Service was fast, efficient and friendly. Food quite good abd homemade hot sauce a pleasant surprise.
My one concern is the payment procedure. The clover machine is on the counter, directly in front of diners that are sitting at the bf bar. Expecting customers to pull out their debit or credit card and enter a pin within literally 12 inches of someone sitting at the bf bar on a stool is not terribly respectful and poses a risk of someone's information being stolen quite easily. The woman sitting next to where I stood to pay was obviously staring at my card and then openly watching while I entered my pin. Turning the machine wouldn't help, as then you're showing the ppl on the opposite side have a birds eye view.
Fix that, and it's a gem of...
Read moreI love breakfast food. Probably even more than Ron Swanson. My old favorite spot was Wolfgang's, and I still like to go every once in a while. But when I moved to the Godfrey-Lee neighborhood a few years ago I discovered this little place. And now, this "hole-in-the-wall" is my all-time favorite spot for breakfast. It has good food, good people and a genuine small-town diner experience. That's why I eat here almost every weekend. I grew up in a small town and it reminds me of home. I think the food edges out Anna's House and the prices are lower to boot. Plus, it's "out of the way" (but just around the corner from my house, so convenient for me) so it's mostly just locals and there's hardly ever a wait. Wait staff is friendly and attentive.
My favorite dish is the Mexican eggs benedict which uses Chorizo sausage instead of ham. They also make their own hot sauce which is delicious on eggs. They give you a free third egg if...
