El Comalon Express — Restaurant in Yakima

Food was delicious 😋 Tamales were good! Birria was good. Is it the best Mexican food I’ve ever had? No,. is a better and then other Mexican restaurants in Yakima, yes! it’s a bit above average in MY opinion.. That is a compliment! They for sure need advertising because we were about to drive away thinking it was close. But made my husband get off the car to ask if they were open or not. Some chairs were still up on the table which made it seem like they were closed, and there open signs didn’t seem like they were on because the sun was reflecting on The sings, obviously, not their fault .. but for being Sunday 11am this place should be packed...

Not a lot of selection, but for size and concept it works, food is decent, it's good for when you're hungy. Tortillas are made fresh. Small establishment. They have a table awkwardly placed in front of the food display from which you order. Its a tight fit if the table is occupied. The way you order is like a cafeteria assembly line you start here --------- pay here. They ask rice, beans, then choose your main entrees. If you dine in the plates are massive just an F.Y.I. Soul food, seriously!

Had a plate with rice and beans and sampled a few of the dishes. Absolute comfort in every bite. The lengua in green sauce melted in mouth, red sauce pork ribs were fall-apart tender and full of flavor. Didn’t even need condiments, but the salsas were so good I still tried a few and recommend you do the same.
