Ma and Pa's Family Diner — Restaurant in Yelm

At first glance, it looked like a friendly place country, you know everything is inviting.

Parking is easy walking through the door change my life forever.

We went out greeted, The place was a wreck with people coming and going, the tables were messy underneath them, and the waitress was running Like a frightened cat, trying to take care of everything. It was clear to me that this was an understaffed diner, way understaffed.

We sat ourselves down Waiting for SERVICE, but it seemed like we weren’t even there The waitress was so busy, taking care of all the dishes, tables, orders, everything she was a one person do it all and I felt sorry for her.

Decided to give it a chance but need to go back and wash my hands. When entering the washroom, what a disaster. Toilet paper over the floor, messy sink, toilet mess, your mother would not let you get away with this.

Decided to leave this place pronto! On my way out, I peaked around the corner and saw the kitchen.

Pots and pans in the sink, waiting to be taken care of. It was clear to me, they needed a pots and pans person in the kitchen any person would do they needed more staff!

I said to myself, if this is the way it looks in the eatery, the bathroom and in the kitchen where are the odds Food would be anything but a greasy plate and the answer was impossible.

Real deciding factor was as I stepped out of the bathroom my feet began to slide on all the grease that had laid on the floor really How horrible was this?

Can you imagine coming out of the bathroom from a seedy tavern only to have your steps become uneasy as you’re sliding on a slippery greasy floor.

I’ve lived in Yelm for most of my life and have always wanted to try this place and I finally did a few months ago. I have finally found time to write a review I have been thinking on it for a bit. My grandmother passed in an accident when I was fairly young so many memories have faded with time. Sometimes it’s hard to remember how she smiled and what spending time with her was like. However, after a super long hike I came here for a simple burger to ease the hunger pains. Didn’t look fancy just a good barbecue burger but when I took a bite I was so shocked. It tasted exactly like the burgers my grandma would barbecue on the porch in the summer. All the smells from the flowers on her patio , the grill and the delicious taste of her food came rushing back. I remembered her smile like I had just seen it yesterday. Memories from over a decade ago I forgot I had all came back just from the taste of this burger. I have never had food impact me in such a way before. I finished my burger and sat in my car and cried. I am so thankful for just a moment of feeling her again. Keep making such delicious...

My wife and I are here for breakfast. They must be under new ownership since the last time I ate here. The person who served us was very nice. My wife wanted their steak and eggs. At that time it was explained that they are waiting for their delivery of steak to arrive and suggested to order their chicken fried steak. But if the steak arrives before the cook starts with our order they could switch the order to steak. Moments later we have learned their delivery arrived just in time and my wife get her steak. My complaint with our experience there is food to table time and how my eggs were cooked. Now I understand that we were there in one of their busiest times of the day. But it took over an hour to get our food from the time we ordered. Now for my second concern. Both my wife and I ordered our meals with sunny side up eggs and both were under cooked. The white was not cooked completely. If they were cooked for another 30 seconds to a minute they would have been perfect. All and all with our experience there, we will...
