Dunne's Ice Cream — Restaurant in York

Arrived slightly before 9pm after checking their website which said they closed at 9:30. They were closing at 9pm and were extremely annoyed that people were there and shut the lights off. The couple in front of us after being treated rudely made the server aware their website said 9:30. An older gentleman inside told them to open another window. The young girl who waited on us was extremely rude and obviously annoyed we were there. My husband asked for a sundae she rudely said we’re not doing sundaes. My husband opted to get nothing after being spoken to that way and the only reason they were not doing sundaes was because they were trying to close. Next was my turn I asked for 3 different ice creams which they were out of really not a big deal although it may be nice to know that ahead of time since she seemed mad I kept asking for ice creams they did not have. When asked what the tornado flavor was she said vanilla. I said plain vanilla she rudely snapped and gave what else was mixed in it. Sorry tornado is not a common flavor. My daughter was up next and ordered when she got her ice cream she had asked for it in a waffle cone and it was in a sugar cone. Afraid to say anything due to the rudeness she just kept it. I will never return there again it had been a tradition for us since we’ve been going when it was Browns on the older location. What was more disappointing is the older gentleman watching these kids treat the patrons like that because we were not the only ones given attitude. We were barely back to our car in the lot and the crew was walking out to their cars. If you don’t want people showing up when your closing then change your website to reflect the correct hours which I noticed today seems to show changed hours. After tipping this young girl in a tie dyed shirt she never even thanked me she just closed the window. Such a disappointing experience after so many years of this being a tradition. Wicked good in the center of York has a far better customer service and actually better ice cream and they will get our business...

I give it 2 Stars because the ice cream is delicious! The Staff is Awful! Visited twice in the last week. First time I ordered a strawberry sundae and a hot fudge sundae. I got 2 hot fudge sundaes. I corrected her and she came back with 2 strawberry sundaes. I corrected her once more. Third times a charm! We visited again tonight. I'm not sure if it was because I was the last customer of the night or what, but I ordered a hot fudge brownie sundae. The young gentleman opened the window and said, "Hot fudge brownie sundae!". As I was eating it, I realized there was no brownie. Because they were closed, I couldn't get it corrected. What irks me is that he must of known there was no brownie in it and didn't care. So I ended up paying $8.50 for a hot fudge sundae. Beyond disappointed! At least they got my son's vanilla cup...

I do not want to eat at ice cream place where I have to stand there for 15 minutes and ask what all these different flavors mean because they simply have them listed by name and do not list what's in the ingredients... I DO NOT HAVE ESP!!! This place is extremely busy and you would think that is a courtesy they label the ice cream. That the way both the staff and the customers could move on and get on with our days. Sizes are ridiculous big, therefore you will pay $$$ for a small... I said SMALL cone. If they didn't make them so big they wouldn't ask you if you want a bowl which is yet an added cost to them completely unnecessary but then transferred over to you in the big picture .
