This York location is hands down the best Sonic around. I'm not just saying this because their food and service here are great, I'm saying this because I have an inside scoop. Your see, the General Manager, Paul Gills, is my neighbor, and a wonderful one at that. I live with the other two managers, Sarah and Russell Brown. So you might think that I'm writing this good review because I know the managers. Nope. The inside scoop that I have for you is that, because I know the managers, I can tell you that this store has quickly become one of the higher ranking stores in the district. This Sonic IS the highest performing store in the district as far as general management is concerned. It's kind of a new store and it is in a smaller town - York - so you wouldn't think it would do the volume that it does, but it does well. Even when they are slammed, you won't wait long. They will still meet ticket times and food quality will be spot-on. My favorite is the #4 Toaster Combo with an Oreo Blast. The Toaster Is Texas Toast hamburger sandwich with cheese, bacon, lettuce, tom, onion, pickle, mayo, and it's kicked into gear with a homemade fried onion ring - that's right, onion rings made FRESH EVERY MORNING! This homemade sweet battered onion ring is decadently placed on this delicious sandwich with love and touched off with a just the right amount of Sonic BBQ sauce. IT'S WORTH CRYING TEARS OF JOY OVER! I recommend this sandwich to any sandwich connoisseur. Bring a tissue for your tears. You'll be ready to go to confessional because you are gonna feel like you have committed sin when you eat this sandwich. In closing, I just want to tell you that I know first hand how committed and passionate ALL the managers and employees are at this York location. Their Food Runners are well trained do a great job. They are always nice. And listen, if there was something wrong with this store or the food, I would know about it. Like I said, I live with two of the managers and they talk about the store everyday in a way that is productive. They love this store and they love what they do. I'm 50 years old. I have managed Retail stores and I can see it in them. These guys genuinely care about this York Sonic. As long as these guys are there, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this...
Read moreI ordered two drinks online. When I got there, I pressed the big red button and let them know what order I was there for by giving them my name and stating it was an online order. They told me they’d have it right out. I waited exactly 20 minutes, watching people who arrived after me get their orders and leave. I buzz again, and wait a while before anyone answers. Someone answers with an attitude like they didn’t want to speak to me. I explained to them politely that I only ordered two drinks and had been waiting 20 minutes already, and asked how much longer they thought it would be. She says she can’t hear me and that she’s coming out. She comes out and I repeat what I had said, she interrupts me and tells me “Okay we’re a bit busy baby” with a MAJOR attitude. 20 MORE MINUTES (EXACTLY) GO BY and someone else comes out with an order that isn’t ours and we tell them it’s not ours, then immediately after that ANOTHER person comes with this HUGE order that isn’t ours once again. I tell her we only ordered two drinks. I give her the order and the name. She goes back inside. Then the first guy who gave us the wrong order comes out and asks for the info. Then the girl that I had just talked to comes out and asks us AGAIN what it was. About a minute later, she brings us our drinks. We thank her. Then she says, “Yeah just next time, make sure you buzz it in.” I said, “We did.” She goes, “Oh, so you pressed that big red button?” And we say, “Yeah…” So not only did they not try to accommodate for our wasted time, but they also never apologized AND tried to blame us for the error. Been several times and if my wife or I get one of the shakes or blasts they only put a sprinkle of anything in it. I’ve even paid for EXTRA hoping to get a regular amount. No, you get an eighth of a freaking Oreo and a cup of vanilla ice cream.
This most recent trip was the one that made me decide I’m done. I got the new pulled pork cheeseburger. They seriously put the burned up bits off the bottom of the pan on the sandwich. Again just a sprinkle. Look, if this sandwich cost $3 dollars I’d excuse it. But $7! Talk about shrinkflation. So yeah, that’s enough of my time and money wasted here.
