Amazing burgers and fries, both made with quality beef and potatoes.
I usually get my burgers without a bun and in the case of Willy's they put in an effort to make it easy to eat, they put my order in box instead of a wrapper and provided a fork and knife. There's also enough meat and toppings to make it a sufficient meal even without the bun, as sometimes at other restaurants it looks like they toss it onto the plate, so major kudos to Willy's! I'd also like to point out that the tomatoes are real-deal steak tomatoes and the lettuce isn't cheap iceberg, I was pleasantly surprised.
Even though we got small orders of fries they hardly seemed so with them overflowing their trays and all. They're freshly made in a light vegetable oil and lightly salted, they're a little on the softer side than crunchy, but I liked the texture along with the real potato taste and appreciated how they weren't greasy.
Also worth mentioning that there's a separate gluten free menu available though I didn't see it until we were leaving as it was off to the side and not mentioned on the chalkboard menu. That's the only suggestion I have, is that they mention that the menu is available. I only got a brief glance at it, but noticed that there's gluten free buns.

Read moreStopped on our road trip. Had good reviews so we thought it'd be good. Uh nope. Walked in, a pleasant face met us and handed us menus and told us to come up and order when ready and told us to basically sit anywhere. Place seemed clean and they have a nice little patio out back with a handful of tables up against a little meadow field. I ordered a caprese burger special and we also got a BBQ burger of sorts and BLT. The lady taking orders had a hard time putting the order in the computer and we ended up putting our fry order in separately because we realized she didn't catch it the first time. Also had shakes there that were tasty but not amazing. Fries were legit homemade and good. My burger was a dry hunk of meat cooked medium - they even have a chart saying what to expect with each level and medium was some pink. My burger definitely lacked flavor. I took a bite of the BBQ burger and was disgusted at the liquid smoke chemical flavor and the bacon on the BLT had the same flavoring to it. Overall for a place that is supposed to specialize in burgers it was just very disappointing. Not worth stopping. I don't get what people eat here that is so amazing. Also, please note, the restrooms here are located down a flight of stairs and don't appear to be...

We always choose Willys for a burger. Every permutation I've had is amazing. The rodeo burger I believe... maybe... whichever has the cheddar and horseradish mayo is my favorite. They are always hot and cooked to perfection. Sometimes we just roll by, open the back of our car, and eat sitting on the trunk mat. It's a fun trip.
They stand by their fries which is odd. I wonder how many people have been truly honest with them. We get our burgers here then go get fries from Bobs or McDs, thats how bad they are (in our opinion). I get that they use all natural potatoes, I get no cornstarch coatings nor breading, I agree with all of this. What I dont agree with is the quick fry, the seeming lack of blanching, and the lack of a double fry.
It tastes and feels like youre eating a fry from a decent fry-joint that fell into a pot of water in the sink for 23 hours prior to you finding it at midnight and going "eh why not".
You can make better at home. 2 maris piper or russet potatoes oil of any kind, veg is fine. peel potatoes but leave ends of skin on for restaurant effect cut and leave in cold water for a while. Run water off. Fry once. let get to room temp Fry again for a shorter period of time.
Better than...
