Lickers Bbq — Restaurant in Youngstown

Lickers have some of the best barbecue I have ever tasted, but I encountered a bad experience last Friday 04-11-25. I ordered a half rack of ribs, but they were badly charred with little meat on the bones. I tried reaching out to the proprietor, but was unable to reach him. Later, I called and asked to speak with the proprietor; he answered, I began to explain my disgruntled demeanor with the owner, just to be hung up on. It was my desire to speak with the owner, but unfortunately, it did not happen. To add insult to injury, the ribs were drowned in sauce to cover up the badly charred ribs. It's unfortunate that I could not talk to the owner. I have decided not to return to the establishment. I'm not trying to tell anyone not to patronize this establishment because everyone has a different experience. I still say, they have the best barbecue, but I won't be patronizing his...

When I tell you it’s hard to pick a favorite here I mean just that! The food, service, atmosphere and vibes are just on point!!! Get extra sauce I promise you’ll want to drink it I mean it’s really that good! Food is fresh always and the ribsssss oh yes if you ride by early morning you’ll see the big barrel grills out smoking them ribs! The kool-aid, peach cobbler omg the Mac and cheese, greens, baked beans, haddock fish yes yall im working my way through the menu! Sad part is they are only open Fridays, Saturday and Sunday so get enough to last you a week! First off, The sauce, taste and tenderness of the ribs were really good. HOWEVER, they advertise racks of ribs, but I received bones. I was disappointed because I paid $14 for a half slab, which is more than I usually pay in the area for actual half slabs. However, the owner contacted me right back after a fb review & offered to replace my order & refund my money. He also said that he serves Louisiana style ribs, which I still haven't checked into what the differences is, nor did I see this written anywhere that I saw, for those of us that do not know...
