Came to Tad's as we have passed numerous times and thought it looked like a nice place we would like to try and had great reviews on Google. As we walked in the door at 530pm, there were about 5 tables of 2-3 people with 3 servers and a bartender. We were sat and after about 10 min our drink orders were taken. My wife ordered an appetizer and we did not see the server Jolena again for about another 20-30 minutes. At about the 45 minute mark of us being there, she came to take our order and we asked for refills. She walked away and did not see her put the order in on the computer for another 10 minutes. All the while we are sitting watching the other servers get their tables sat, food ordered, and food out. At about an hour and 15 minutes, we finally got our food. I had the hamburger steak and under the steak section, the menu states it come with a choice of side and a salad. I was told it came with fries. It tasted like someone packed some ground meat straight out the package with no seasoning, dropped it on the grill, poured package gravy mix and canned mushrooms on top. Very dry and had to add lots of salt. Salt and pepper shakers were empty. While waiting for our food and while eating, we could not help but notice a middle aged lady working expo, plating foods, while also enjoying the food herself. She would go to the center of the kitchen, ladle some sauces, grab some finger food and start chewing. When someone was in her window, she packed it like a chipmonk in her cheek. Being a food professional myself and seeing this was jarring. Now I know these staff very seldom get a break on shift and "sampling" or "quality control tasting" happens, but perhaps not in full view of the customers whos plates you are putting together. She also was not wearing any hair restraint and did not change her gloves one time even though she was steady shoveling her fingers in her lips with the food. The bartender was also eating at the bar and on her way to grab food. The remainder of my party mostly ordered crawfish half/half, which to say the better "half" (3/4)of that is rice. They charge you $21 for 4-5 oz crawfish and about 2-3cups rice. Another party member had tads bowl, which was mostly rice as well. I went to the restroom halfway through my visit here and realized the entire restaurant was full. Still had 3 servers and 1 bartender...all the reviews on here and yelp complain of long wait times...if there aren't enough staff, perhaps start a waiting list with half the restaurant because obviously the current staff cannot handle the load. Having worked in the food business for 20 years, 2 of the 3 servers seemed to be doing a great job trying to keep up with their tables, but not ours, and the bartender didn't leave her area to help. We had to ask for refills, and even had to go find her for our check. The atmosphere is a good one. The potential of this place is great, but there needs to be more training and sense of urgency around service, and having more servers on the floor. Checked this off our list of tried and will not be repeating. The Yelp review average of 2.7 is definitely more accurate than the 4+ on google.

I was really skeptical about trying this restaurant because of the reviews. I can agree some of them look staged, and people I know personally didn’t have much good to say about this place. We just moved to Youngsville from a small town and have been trying all the restaurants. We ordered the Crawfish Queso, Fried Seafood Entree, Cajun Catfish O’Stuffed Poboy, and a Cup of Chicken and Sausage Gumbo. We were seated quickly and were basically in and out within an hour. The sodas tasted flat. Crawfish Queso was very good, but they overdid the Tony’s seasoning. I’m already not a fan of Tony’s and I feel it’s cliche as a “Cajun” seasoning and it’s just so salty, but aside from it I enjoyed this appetizer. And I can’t knock it just because “I” don’t prefer Tony’s. The fried seafood you can tell were frozen and not fresh(they do disclose the imported catfish so that’s expected but not for anything else), but was seasoned well and had good flavor. The grilled veggies looked and tasted like the great value California blend from Walmart. The crawfish Étouffée on the poboy was amazing! But the gumbo was absolutely disgusting. It tasted like medicine and chemicals was the best way to put it. Considering everything seemed to be from frozen and imported, the price was extremely high, however the food was not as terrible as some have said and we received everything pretty quickly and it was hot. The only reason we won’t be regular here is because of the price, otherwise I think this is a good little spot for something to eat. Our server was Lauren and she was very sweet and quick.

I don’t know how detailed I want to get here. But, this “Cajun” food is about the same as what I find in a tourist area in another state like florida. It’s not up to par in flavor for Louisiana standards especially compared to other local seafood restaurants. I only see this place staying open because of location and lack of competition in the immediate area That being said, it would be a cool places to hang out, watch sports grab some drinks an an appetizer. This place has only been open a few weeks. But my complaint isn’t about operations it’s about flavor and food quality. Our order Bang bang shrimp 5/10 - mayonnaise forward. More sweet, didn’t really taste any heat Loaded fries- 6/10 the queso is very good the fries are just ok. The portion wasn’t worth $11 Fried Cajun catfish plate- 6/10 nice and crispy but overall the fish was too thick. Sweet potato fries were soggy Etouffee-2/10 - similar to what I would find on a buffet Rice dressing - 1/10 this is no Louisiana rice dressing. You shouldn’t be able to still see white on the rice Chicken fried chicken- 2/10 the most prominent flavor was grease Shrimp Alfredo 2/10- something was off about the Alfredo. It was very thin and watery Hush puppies - 1/10 almost $4 for 5 small hush puppies Kid burger 4/10 - very dry Spinach dip- I only took one bite and sent it back because it wasn’t hot. It is very spinach heavy

This was our third trip here (previous two we came and the wait was 1+ hours so we went somewhere else). Finally got in tonight and we were disappointed. We ordered our drinks when we sat down (myself a draft beer and my wife also a draft beer). We also ordered gator bites as an app. About 10 minutes later gator bites were delivered and they were very chewy and not great. We also had not received our drinks by this time. Shortly after my drink arrived, but the server stated they did not have what my wife ordered on draft and if she’d rather have it in a bottle which she said OK. Then later the server came out and said they did not have that in a bottle and would she like something else. By this time I’d finished my drink and ordered another. Shortly after she came back out and relayed they actually did not have what she ordered and would she’d like something else. She ended up ordering a frozen drink and by this point we’d probably been there 30 minutes and no drink for her

Even more so, they brought her drink AND the original drink she’d ordered in a bottle which they found in the kitchen (to their credit they did comp this drink). From here my wife had asked if the grilled seafood salad was warm and they stated yes, but it was brought out cold so she sent it back. I ordered the 1/2 and 1/2 etouffee which was OK (room temperature and not hot so maybe had been sitting?) and I had to ask for the side of toast as the menu stated it came with it, but did not come on the plate.

My daughter also left her pop-it toy on the table and we realized when we came home. My wife called to see if it had been turned in and the hostess put her on hold for over 10 minutes. She hung up and called back at which point the hostess said they threw it away.

It’s a nice clean place and hopefully they get some of these service issues addressed. All in all though, a pretty disappointing experience and not sure if we will be back. I’m giving two stars because the setup is nice and there is potential, but I’ve had worse at other places so can’t justify them being a one....

I went eat here for a birthday dinner recently I did not enjoy my visit

Our waitress was not friendly with our table. my guest and I arrived at 7pm we waited over a hour and a half to get our food so around 8:30 we finally got our food for our entire party we did not have privacy in the party room because the doors were left open the entire time. Many of our guests were served the wrong drinks offered no refills and told wrong prices of the items. I ordered 2 ribeye steaks with 2 baked potatoes and 2 Caesar salads . Both steaks were ordered medium and we got 1 medium and 1 medium rare which was okay for me, the steaks had no seasonings or butter on them we were not given any steak sauces or asked if our food was to our liking. Our baked potatoes were over cooked hard brown bottom with absolutely no salt at all. Our salads were disgusting they didn’t have enough dressing on them so we asked for more but they tasted very sour and not like a good Caesar dressing . The restaurant never sung the birthday girl happy birthday or even gave us excellent service our bill was charged over 30$ extra for us having a party table with terrible quality of food and service from the employees id also like to mention after we got our food after a hour and 30 minute wait almost 10 minutes later we were given To-go boxes as if we had to leave and the party area was very cold and uncomfortable felt about 65• degrees and not comfortable for our guests at one point a worker told us we had to leave and proceeded to give us bags even when we didn’t have enough time to eat our food after the long wait time overall we spend 30$ extra on a 70$ ticket so $100 for terrible unseasoned bland food with horrible Service we will not be returning or...
