Al's Fresh Fish & Chicken — Restaurant in Ypsilanti Charter Township

BEWARE of old chicken - We placed a large order for 300 wings and 100 legs and thighs nearly a week in advance. I was told by the manager named Amir, to call the day before to confirm the order. To my surprise, I received a call a day in advance from an employee saying my order was ready for pick-up!!! I told him to check the date and that's when he realized they made the order one day too early! The next day we picked up the order and we were very disappointed because the chicken was not fresh and hot like it usually is, it seemed cold inside like it was refrigerated. Considering the current chicken wing shortage, this order was likely saved for the next day and simply sold to us. We are NOT going to place orders like this with Al's supposed "Fresh" Fish & Chicken anymore due to us being given old chicken for our order. Additionally, they charged a convenience fee after giving me old chicken! VERY POOR...

I will definitely give this place another try in the future. The one time I went here I got the cod dinner and it was pretty good. It seemed a little dry to me like the fish fillets were too thin to stay moist on the inside. The portions were good. Tons of fries and the lemon salt they offer was very tasty. Call ahead because it does take a solid 20 minutes to get your order prepared but it is fresh and hot when you get it. From reading these reviews I see that a lot of people like the shrimp. Maybe next time I’ll try the shrimp. It was definitely good enough and prices were right to try again. I’m glad to see a local business doing well in this area...

I can't believe these guys had the audacity to sell me a 10-piece catfish dinner $25 ONLY FISH no fries or anything else and the pieces were about the size of a White Castle burger. In Edition what I did get which was probably about three pieces total was over fried and horrible. I don't know why they call it Al's fresh fish. It should be called Al's rip off fish shop. I have provided pictures of this garbage so everyone can see that they cut their fish and try to sell it as a whole piece.
