Hands down the worst service I've experienced in years, and I didn't even eat at the restaurant! I ordered my food for carry out, as I had my baby boy with me and he was a little edgy. When I arrived to pick my food up two male employees were standing behind the counter. Neither made any attempt to welcome me. In fact, one of these man - a shorter fellow most likely in his 30s, flat out glowered at me. After about five seconds of looking at me like I killed his dog I realized he had no desire to ask my business, so I told him I had called in an order. Kid you not, his dirty look intensified! And then he says (again, I can't make this up), "what?" I said, "what?" He says to me, "what did you order?" I tell the guy what I ordered, he says nothing whatsoever, walks away and returns in a few moments with my food. He and the younger kid then battle to figure out how to use their own cash register, which seems to further agitate the elder of the two. After a few minutes they work out my ticket and I pay. They don't say a single word as I'm leaving. No "have a nice day," or "thanks for stopping by." Nothing. UNBELIEVABLY rude. So, I get home a few minutes later and get into my food (an enchilada combo with their mixed shredded beef/pork). The meat is good, and the flavor is reminiscent of birria. Nothing else on the plate has flavor. The sauce is canned, the rice and beans were both insanely bland and even their salsa (not quite a pico de gallo) has virtually no flavor. It was a terribly bland meal and a few bucks wasted. It's staggering to see so many positive reviews for this place, as both the food and service were nothing short of embarrassing. I'll stick with Tortiarilla Flores in the future, though Antonio's, La Unica and even the wildly white washed El Zarape offer a dramatically...
Read moreThe appearance of the place was inviting. My brother in law is disabled and wheelchair bound. Once we entered the place it became apparent that it was a very tight place and difficult to get around so we opted to sit out on the patio. Right away we all got a negative vibe from our server. We ordered and it took a bit for the food to arrive. Right away we noticed some of the food was looking shabby. The chicken on the fajitas plate looked processed and not organic or real. The floutas were over cooked and you could smell and taste burnt oil. The food basically sucked. We only took a few bites and got disgusted. We paid our check (too much for this low quality and nasty food) We were leaving and my brother in law needed to use the restroom so my husband politely asked one of the waiters where the restroom was and in a very sarcastic tone of voice said “the restroom is broken” and then started laughing at my husband and brother in law. There was a couple sitting at a near table and they heard the waiter and they started to laugh as well. My husband became irate and asked to speak to a manager but was ignored. After the incident we were leaving and found this to be highly disrespectful and very discriminatory towards my disabled brother in law. I don’t care how light hearted the waiters tried to be it is very unprofessional and disgusting to make light of any person who is wheelchair bound, it’s hard enough for them. My brother in law was having an emergency and these people wanted to joke about it, shame on them and just a bunch of disgusting people. We highly recommend not to patronize this very unprofessional and disgust place. Boycott because they discriminate against physically...
Read moreI went inside to do a take-out order and asked for a menu. They told me it was outside posted. I asked if it was the only one (because I really didn’t want to stand outside and read off a wall) and if it was the same as the ones they give dine-in customers, and they said yes. So I went back outside and made my selection. Then I go to pay, and realize my bill is much higher than I expected! I happened to see a menu sitting near the register so I grabbed it and looked at the price of my meal and it was several dollars higher than the menu outside stated it was!!! It was so awkward to point out, and I was annoyed because it felt like they were purposely just taking money without asking! After I made a few remarks she said she’d “tell them”. I pushed it again and that’s when she snarkishly offered the difference back, but her tone seemed like it would have been an inconvenience. It was just poor/rude customer service- definitely not a good first impression. The food itself was mediocre, my enchilada was upside down and in the rice, none of it had much flavor…. There was more cheese than beans regarding the side of beans. I got one TINY little container of salsa, enough for 1-2 chips….had no spice, basically tasted like tomato water with onion slices. I have no reason to ever come back here, or bring my family back here for...
