Italia Bella — Restaurant in Yucaipa

Please note that I am not reviewing based on my dining experience. My post is more of a suggestion to the consumer/customer.

A member of the nextdoor app posted a glowing review of Italia Bella. Based on that review, I perused Google Reviews and found the overall rating at 4.8 along with glowing comments about the food.

Having guests in town, I decided this would be an excellent opportunity to experience a new diner.

As we entered the establishment, all of the chairs were positioned upside down on the dining tables. I asked if the restaurant was not open for dining. I was told they were preparing a 300 person catering event. We were welcome to order food for takeout.

Unfortunately, having guests, I preferred a dine-in meal. I would have loved to have tried the food based on all of the wonderful reviews I read.

This incident took place on an early Saturday afternoon. Other notations based on observation are the restaurant appears intimate, having a limited number of tables/seats. I did scan the menu and Italia Bella seems to have a wide variety of entrees and also serves traditional Italian desserts.

My suggestion is, if you are expecting a dine-in experience, you may want to call Italia Bella in advance to make sure they are available for in restaurant dining.

I failed to ask staff if excluding in-restaurant dining due to catering was a common event or if this generally happens...

My family loves Italian food. This family owned restaurant serves the best Italian dishes my family and I ever had! A lot better than other known Italian restaurants we frequented before. It was my youngest son’s birthday and he wanted lasagna. I googled “the best lasagna in town” and Italia Bella came up! Never heard of it before but the reviews were great! I went ahead and called the number 2 hours before the place opened and viola, Mina answered the phone! He was so kind to take my orders for my son’s birthday dinner at so short notice! Ain’t he great? Penne Al Pesto with crispy chicken was so yummy! Meat Lasagna was the best we ever had! Antipasto salad was truly enjoyed by my picky husband and older son! And for the dessert, the tiramisu was really mouth watering and not so sweet at all! My husband loved the cannoli, too! He did not share the 2 orders! Kept them all to himself! Hahahaha Overall, this place is a 5 on all categories!
