Brunch Junkie — Restaurant in Zachary

This is my 1st time visiting Brunch Junkie.

When I arrived the Open sign was off so, I wasn’t sure they were open. We were the only customers at 1130, which scared me a little. So glad I decided to stick around. This is a good brunch spot.

The hostess was polite, friendly, and welcoming.

The drinks were prepared quickly, which I appreciate.

The appetizer, seafood queso, took about 20 minutes but I’m grateful for the time because it was hot, fresh and delicious. 5/5 ‼️

Entree #1 - BJ Supreme Omelette The flavors were there, absolutely… but the omelette was a little greasy which is most likely from the different meats. The portion was great, I definitely got my money’s worth. 3/5👍🏾

I added some of the seafood queso to some bites of the omelette and it was GOOD. Fyi..

Entree #2 - Chicken wings and Waffles O.M.G. This was deeeelicious. Wings seasoned well and fried perfectly. Waffle was not too sweet, fruit was fresh, whipped butter and syrup were great toppers. I have no complaints. I wanted more. Priced appropriately for the portion. 5/5‼️

Side - Hashbrowns 2/5🙁 Not a fan at all. They tasted greasy and lacked flavor. I will try the breakfast potatoes next time.

Brunch is quite honestly one of my favorite guilty pleasures, and I will go out of my way to partake every time.

Came to Zachary from Houston for my cousin's wedding and stayed at a hotel down the road. When we woke up the morning after the wedding, we needed some good food and a mimosa. We arrived right when they opened and were the first people there. When we asked about the mimosas, the waitress explained that they did single glasses and also towers, and the towers came in two different sizes (half and full). The service was AWESOME, and the food was some of the best I've ever had. I had the boudin balls, and oooooweeeeeee they were to DIEEEE for!!! My momma had the shrimp and grits, and nanny has biscuits and gravy.... Both of which were DELICIOUS.

Party of 3 with none of us happy with our meals. The wait time was long, my expectations may have increased as a result. I ordered the French toast which was crispy and not the texture I was hoping for. In some spots it was slightly burnt. I ordered a fried chicken breast in the side. It was beautifully battered but grossly under seasoned , tough, and dry. My daughter ordered the boudin crab cakes. The cream sauce had a funny taste that none of us could identify. My daughter got sick immediately after we left so something may have been spoiled. This was my third visit and I’ve had a worse experience each time. I won’t try for a 4th.
