Waffle House in Zachary has apparently switched owners. Upon arrival, the dinning area was blocked off on both sides, however 2 families were dining in, that wasnāt a concern of mine bc I just wanted the food. There were 2 people ahead of my husband and I, the Chinese/Asian waitress (later known as Michelle) was taking one of their orders. We waited for about 5-7 mins, no one had acknowledged us when we walked in. A couple of lighter descent came in behind us and Michelle greeted them and asked ādine in or take outā mind you, we had come in before them with no greeting. My husband informed Michelle that we were ahead of them and she snapped back āno dine in, dine in closedā crazy right? We both informed her that it was fine, but we were here first regardless. The couple that was sitting down eating informed us that they had just closed the areas off due to an angry customer right before we came- totally nothing to do with us. Michelle completed taking both of the customers orders before us, and started walking around doing busy work afterwards, which was nothing behind the counter. We waited at the counter for 10 minutes for our order to be taken, no one came to the register. The young lady who was cleaning tables and helping the dine in customers (Tessa, whoās awesome btw) asked Michelle was she going to do the orders, Michelle stated āNo Iām tiredā and continued to walk around behind the counter. Tessa happily took our order and we paid and sat in the waiting areas for our food. As soon as we walked away, Michelle came back to the register and happily served the lighter skinned couple that was behind us, yes after she stated to Tessa that she was ātiredā. At this point, we felt discriminated against and associated with whatever argument she had prior to is arriving. This experience was not pleasant and the staff should know to accept and appreciate...

Went there the other night to pick up food and I go to the counter to place my order and Iām immediately told (the white female waitress) āhold on someone will be with you in a secondā the waitress told me it was shift change and she was waiting for the relief to take over the shift in order to take my order all the while still servicing another customer. I waited 20 mins a no one still came to take my order. Iām a manager in the fast food industry myself and regardless of your shift about to end customers are still to be served considering for one I came 15 mins before the shift ended which is ample time to fix my food and two the blatant disrespect of he serving another customer and tell me I had to wait for the next shift , I feel like she should be fired because it is not good...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAs soon as we walked in, there were 3 tables that were still dirty from previous patrons and remained that way until we left. This was at 6:30am on a Thursday. There were 2, maybe 3 employees working. I saw one cook and one server. At this time of the morning, they had 2 people sitting up front and there were a total of 4 people in the whole please including us. We sat down and immediately noticed our table was slightly dirty because it still had wet coffee rings and was sticky from syrup. The floor was a little slick and had napkins scattered. The food was great like it always is. It was just a little weird not having great service and and cleanliness like all the other Waffle Houses...
