My husband and I wanted a nice evening out and maybe a glass of wine. Vita Bella has great food and a fair wine selection. I called Vita Bella to check to be sure they were open as we work a bit later so we get out a bit later. The phone went to voice message and directs the patron to their website. The website says that Vita Bella is open until 9:00pm. I had called at 7:42, online says they're open, arrived at 8:10, kitchen closes at 8:30 so were good. We arrived at 8:10, only to find the doors locked. I then called again when we were still in the parking lot to inquire what was happening because we did drive a bit to get there. Someone answered this time and I was told there had not been customers there for the last hour, so they closed early. This is fine, I get it. The thing is that I called ahead of time. Patrons need to be informed somehow via phone message or online that they were closing early or at the very least answer the phone. In my opinion, it's bad public relations to unexpectedly close early. Mind you I called less than a half hour prior to arriving and upon finding the doors locked, called again and being told no one had been there for an hour. The worst part is that in fact, this is the 2nd time this has happened to us and it is frustrating and disappointing because we were really looking forward to being there. I'm not sure when or if we will be returning. Consistency within a business is...
Read moreWe went on a hot summer evening for dinner, unfortunately the air didn't seem strong enough. The food was of very high quality and everything from the table bread to the steak tasted good. The problem was the service, we had a reservation for dinner and once seated we had to ask for menus and once water was poured our table was left alone for over 20+ minutes. No one ever came by to ask us for drinks so we eventually asked the bar and got our own. Our server showed up maybe 10+ minutes after that (so roughly 30 minutes after menus) to take our order. I will add that they did seem to be understaffed and busy so perhaps it was just bad timing.
I don't recommended splitting any of the dishes except the 16 oz steak as they are a bit on the smaller size. Appropriately sized for one person. The steak was served in a bowl without a steak knife, which was a bit odd.
I think a little more training with staff and a few other tweaks and this could easily be a 5 star place. I would recommend at least giving it a try as the...
Read moreHostess chewing gum like a four year old was our first impression. The tables are so SMALL and cramped together because the restaurant itself is way too small. We struggled with the menu because we donât like seafood and itâs in almost everything. We tried the âfamousâ nachos and there was so little meat or sauce it was so disappointing- plenty of peppers though to make it look pretty. Itâs essentially fried wonton wraps with cheese sauce/Italian sausage. Hubby ordered a braised sirloin that was actually watered down sauce/noodles and I kid you not- ONE!! tiny piece of steak lol. I ordered Cannelloni that was burnt on top and raw in the center. Portions are laughable for the $$$ but on huge plates so you donât notice. When we asked to speak to a manager, we were told that meals are not cooked to order and the braised sirloin was basically in a huge pot. Service was meh. You will not even get salt and pepper, or grated cheese. Overall the experience was memorable, in that we would never try it again, or...
