Potesta's Pizza of Zion — Restaurant in Zion

This place does not even deserve the 1 star I had to select.

After ordering a nice size order as we do each week, paying taxes and delivery and a substantial tip we received substandard service at best.

The girl who answered the phone STEPHANIE presented herself as the manager and was very argumentative. When I called and asked to speak to the owner the guy who got on the phone clearly was not the owner

When arriving in the store to bring the item back, we asked the owner's name, which the guy refused to give us. He simply said he was not there. When I said to him, the owner is SALGADO? He then responds with a yes, and says, "Julian. That's my brother." I said ok and began to leave to which he said, "And he doesn't speak English." I guess because I am black he felt the need to say that, however, spanish is not a language barrier for me.

Overall, my daughter ordered a salad and entered no tomato no onion. The salad arrived, with the rest of the order, with tomato and onion. When calling STEPHAINE argued, spoke over her, and was simply rude to be in the customer service role. It was very evident that this is a family owned business that cares not to give any kind of professional service.

The same people handling money was handling food, aprons were very dirty, papers and non food items were strewn about where food was.

They argued that my daughter ordered tomato and onion. I asked of that came on the salad, the guy said yes. I then said, "Why would she ask for it then, of it already comes on there?" The guy started to say he understands and I said for as much money as my daughter spends there every weekend, she should have received better service.

STEPHANIE kept trying to speak over the gentlemen. I said a number of times, "Sir I and speaking with you, you said you are the owner." He asked her about 3 or 4 times to stop, but she kept being argumentative right there at the counter.

Needless to say, they have lost our business forever and I will continue on with my complaint until we are treated with the decency we all...

I used to eat Potesta's as kid growing up at the Vernon Hills location. Always had fond memories. I've bypassed the one in Waukegan many times due to the poor reviews I had read.

Was on the hunt for food before a meeting that was keeping me late at work and I saw the Potesta's sign on the awning and thought why not? Now I know why not!

I ordered an Italian Beef and fries. Was told it would take 15-20 minutes. OK? Cooked to order. Unfortunately not. By the time I drove the mile or so back to my office the food was cold. They wrap a pickle in with the beef? I can understand with a burger or hot dog - but with beef? Just changed the whole aromatic experience. The Aus Jus on the side had so much spice floating on top was also off putting. Beef was thick and dry (almost gyro consistency). A good Chicago Beef should be razor thin to absorb the juices. Fries were also bland, barely salted and soggy.

Definitely not cooked to order - which incidentally came to $10.17 without a drink. Could have driven a few miles up the road and had the same meal at the World Famous Portillo's for 50 cents more and the quality would have been immensely better.

Live and learn I guess. Always like to give family owned business a chance and it seems the reviews for this Potesta's location are hit or miss. My experience was...

I recently ordered a half pan of chicken Alfredo from Potesta's Pizza in Zion, IL, and I was beyond impressed with both the dish and the service. The Alfredo sauce was rich, creamy, and flavorful, perfectly coating the generous amount of tender chicken and pasta. What made the experience even better was how accommodating the staff was to my request. Even though it was a larger order, everything was hot and fresh, and they were able to get my done on short notice.
