Good location beside Port Vila Harbour, in town close to restaurants and cafes, grocery and other stores, markets, currency exchange, tourism office and other services. Started my holiday here to experience the capital and organise my currency, mobile sim card and day trips/tours. Took daily walks to the nearby bay promenade with its markets, cafes and parks.|The hotel is the tallest building in Vila. From my higher floor deluxe room there were nice views of the harbour; sit on the balcony and watch the sunset. Good size room with large bed, small writing desk, good cupboard and drawer space, bedside tables with lamps, smooth tiled floor (take care, slippery when wet), small fridge, jug, coffee and selection of tea bags (black, green, earl grey, mint), separate tub and shower, basic toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash), free wi-fi (okay to poor connection), tv, iron, daily housekeeping.|The pool area was nice with lounges (only a few with umbrellas) and view of the bay (a shame about the wire fencing along the harbour edge). Pool size was just long enough to swim laps. Pool bar was closed while I was visiting but you can order at lobby bar and they bring drinks etc out to you (might be nice if someone came out to pool area occasionally to see if any guests would like any refreshments). Be careful in the pool bathroom as the floor is extremely slippery when wet (as it will be if you have just jumped out of the pool); I just saved myself in time from a nasty fall. Pool open sunrise to sunset so no early night swimming.|Very friendly and helpful reception, and all the staff. Make you feel welcome. Lobby and restaurant are good. Enjoyed one breakfast at the hotel. Several room service meals were okay but probably better to eat in the restaurant or in town. No functional tour desk.|A few negatives - noise from the nearby shipyard and LIT nightclub with its boom boom beat till 3 am (though the hotel has put in heavy glass balcony doors that help reduce most of the noise), congested hotel front (little parking or footpath area), balconies are close to one another and their position reduces some room privacy, wine glasses provided but no cork screw or bottle opener (bar offered to send someone to room to open my bottle but there were none available to borrow), water runs from shower into the room making the floor slippery.|Despite the few negs I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. It is in a good location, handy to attractions and services of Port Vila. Comfortable room,...

The best place to stay in Port Vila, by far! The staff are incredible, the rooms are gorgeous (we opted for the deluxe ocean view each time), and everything was just perfect. Upon our arrival from a short trip to Tanna, we actually booked another place and literally left after a few hours and just accepted losing the deposit to go back to The Grand. Other places are nice, but you have to walk to restaurants, stores, etc. The location of The Grand is unbeatable. ||||There’s a chemist across the road, tonnes of gift shops across the road and a few minute walk down the street, there’s a bottle-o pretty much across the road (and the doorman will not worry at all about you walking in with a case – hell yeah). The markets and grocery stores are also just a two minute walk down the street – it’s all there and so convenient. Obviously, there’s also a restaurant and bar within the hotel. The food was just amazing. I think both Tom and I got fish of the day every day for lunch haha. The boat to Iririki Resort is right next to the hotel as well, so we dipped over there for a swim and dinner one night. Super lovely as well. If you go later, they don’t charge a day pass, so we got lucky and had a lovely time. But, to be honest, we sat at dinner looking back at The Grand and just wanted to get back! Balconies are lovely and the TV reception was the best we saw in Vanuatu (we were a bit run down after Tanna, so really appreciated the comfort).||||The staff were a stand-out. Samuel, at the reception desk, seriously, deserves an award. He was incredible. Super helpful when our flight was cancelled and remembered us straight away when we returned after Tanna. He was beyond helpful and just an amazing person. Thank you, Samuel, for all for your help and making our stay in Vanuatu amazing. I feel we’re going back purely to stay at the...

LOCATION! If you want to be in town close to all entities including supermarket, fruit and veg market aswell as shops and craft souvenirs this place is the place to book.

Looking at the photos online really sells the Hotel upon arriving it was a different story, the front facade of the Hotel doesn't do it any favours, whilst the rooms are clean and offer all.the creature comforts they do look like they are ageing.

The staff were all fantastic and friendly, always happy to assist and have a chat, nothing seemed to hard and I always looked forward to seeing them for breakfast and dinner, such nice people.

This is a hotel and casino, so expect the costs of food and drink to be more expensive than walking across or down the street, but I can't complain when I did eat in, it was great.

Being somewhat French influenced the breakfast had a lot of breads and pastries, but all were delicious.

Careful of the Local beer Tusker, it is a heavy with a lot of sugar, so have too many and you will wakeup with a headache!

The pool and views to iririki island and the bay are breathtaking, fantastic to sit around the pool with a beer and watch the sunset.

The hotel whilst functional and comfortable and convenient in location, does need a Bit of a update considering the prices that are charged. I stayed outside of any Australian school holidays during winter for work and per night price was not as I imagined...

Recently stayed at the Grand Hotel and Casino for 3 nights in January 2023. It was my first trip to Port Vila and I absolutely recommend for any first timer to stay at the Grand Hotel and Casino to indulge in the breathtaking views, perfect ambiance and excellent service. Waking up to the view of gorgeous Iririki overwater bures to the sight of the Quantum of the Seas cruise ship docking in Port Villa was magical. Surreal sunset moments with a glass of wine and fine cheese on the balcony is soul satisfying. Highly recommended.

Delicious meals! I was very impressed with the quality of the meals here and the service. The setting is beautiful over looking the water and irirki island. It was however a tad expensive. Our family of 6 cost around $350 aud and one child only had a bowl of chips. They do have a happy hour, so I would plan my meal around that if you wanted to save some money. They also have a small casino with around 6 tables and maybe 50 pokie machines. Definitely a fun environment and they serve drinks at the tables.
