Stunning evening at Lalala, perfect way to end a gorgeous stay in Vanuatu. The views are incredible and the decor and atmosphere of the restaurant is beautiful. All of the servers were wonderful.
Onto the food, we spent around $160 AUD and we ordered a goat cheese salad, I ordered Osso Bucco and my boyfriend ordered a seafood linguini. For dessert I had a creme brûlée and my boyfriend had a panacotta.
Starter:
Goat cheese salad was tasty, fresh vegetables great mix, loved the apples and olives on top. Just 3 pieces of cheese but they were tasty and balanced nicely with the salad.
Main:
Osso bucco, lentils on the side were great, the sauce of the osso bucco was stunning. The meat itself was disappointing. I feel it could have slow cooked for longer at lower, as it was very chewy at points and a huge piece of bone so minimal meat for not a cheap dish.
Seafood linguini, fair few mussels and chunks of fish, very tasty nicely seasoning. Some bits of shell running throughout which is just the nature of the dish.
Dessert: Creme Brûlée and panacotta. Both gorgeous and really big portions, Creme brûlée could have been more scorched on the top. Otherwise, perfect.
Overall, I think it’s pricey for the quality of food and some ingredients you’re served. However, I’d happily pay another visit and perhaps not get 3 courses, for the views, atmosphere and service. A...
Read moreWOW – what a stunning place! We stumbled upon this restaurant while out walking and stopped in for a few drinks. Right on the seafront, the view was absolutely spectacular. Between the service, the atmosphere, and the delicious drinks, we knew we had to come back for dinner.
And we’re so glad we did! We celebrated my friend’s birthday here and everything was fantastic – from the starters to the mains and dessert. The service was warm and attentive, the food was full of flavour, and the setting couldn’t have been more perfect.
To top it off, the owner came over to chat as we were leaving. He shared stories about the history of Vanuatu and went out of his way to make my friend feel truly special on her birthday.
I definitely recommend this little gem – it’s the kind of place that leaves you with...
Read moreWe started with oysters which tasted pretty tired with champagne that tasted more like proseco and moved on to the steak. The flavour of the ateak was amazing but it was the worst cut of meat we have had in 2 weeks on the island. We had a bloody mary next it was toxic. Don’t know what they put in it but worst ever. We did not finish the oysers or the Bloody Mary.
The music was a bate and switch, we walked in to some lovely french vocals and then after entrees it switched to 70s disco interspersed with techno.
Wont be back.
No it was not cheap. Seems like they are broke and serving crap food and alcohol at top price to recover.
I very rarely leave a bad review but this one was worth it.
I just hope I make it to the plane home tomorrow.
Most things in Vanuatu have exceeded expectations. This one...
