Came here late in the day to make the most of happy hour. Alas, this wasn't reflected when I paid and despite having quite a 'show down' with staff, they refused to reduce the bill. I just left without paying the extra making quite a scene. That isn't normally my style but I travel alot, and it annoys me when people will 'burn' someone over a few dollars. I will not recommend this place. I will however, tell you a few things about it. I could walk from my hotel to this place, but it's away from the main part of town. easy to find. Service was pretty good (apart from the above interaction). Note that there are two sections to this place. One is the bar and restaurant. The other is the game place for visitors where you can play billards, darts and sip on your home brewed beers. This is where alot of Aussies hung out. Being an Aussie - I wanted to get away from that. I did eat here before the interaction above and found the prices not bad - the usual overpriced Vanuatu to be expected. The steak was good and as it was served on a stone plate, which seems to be the way they do it here. I was salivating thinking about a good steak but alas, it was average. Cleanliness was pretty good - as I said, this is a little more of an up market restaurant. Wheelchair friendly....
Read moreThis would have to be one of our worst dinning experiences. This place looks nothing like the photos they advertised, It was very dark and worn down. The food was very poor quality, we got the seafood chowder, jalapeño poppers, chicken wings, chips and nuggets for the kids and the beef cheeks. All very plan and tasteless. It was happy hour and we were the only ones there to begin with and the only ones eating. We ordered two Martiniâs and waited a long time for them to come out and when the Martiniâs come out they were presented in Margarita glasses packed full of ice and a big chunk of craved up lemon on top. Surprisingly it tasted nothing like a Martini, so we sent it back and asked for them to do it again. Which they did. But alas, the second drink was not a martini either. Not sure what the heck it was. Thatâs when we decided to get up and leave. So please heed these words, donât go to the WildHorse saloon,...
Read moreI don't ever review but thought I had to for the Warhorse. Ended up ordering food and a bunch of drinks (which should have been happy hour prices as ordered during happy hour and this was confirmed with staff). However when I went to pay they wrote me up a bill with no discounts and ended up saying the bill was after happy hour had ended so we had to pay full price. This included now being charged for mixers which wasn't the case with first round paid upfront. When queried the bar staff seemed to think it was funny and said that it wasn't our fault that bar staff hadn't advised to settle up before end of happy hour but basically too bad. I'm getting a feeling that everywhere you go in Vanuatu that people are willing to rip off tourists for a few extra dollars. Otherwise food and service were fairly good besides the microwaved apple pie. If you do decide to dine here make sure you pay for drinks before the end...
