Fill My Buns — Restaurant in Đà Nẵng

Update: the restaurant has updated their business listing to specify “delivery restaurant,” which probably what they should have done in the first place. Bravo. Upgraded to a neutral 3 star listing.

It was disappointing to arrive at what was portrayed as a hamburger restaurant on Google, only to discover it's a dark kitchen with no dine-in or table service - delivery or pickup only. I understand the importance of Google reviews for businesses, but it's unfortunate that I had to carefully plan my evening, travel across town, and end up on a dimly lit street with just a delivery pickup point.

A possible solution could be to rename the place "Fill My Buns (Delivery/Pick-Up Only)," which would clarify the situation for all parties involved.

Regrettably, I have to leave a 1-star review, even though the staff were attentive. My reasons are threefold:

1. I invested a significant amount of time and money to reach the location.
2. I was unaware that it wasn't a restaurant.
3. As of now, almost an hour later, I still haven't been able to eat because I had to go to another restaurant instead.

Those who read reviews carefully will come across this one and hopefully understand the need to order online. I hope it doesn't negatively impact the business, but there's a price to pay for wasting a customer's time.

Actually my reasoning is more than threefold:

4. before I arrived, I did read reviews and saw no mention about this place being delivery only

5. you are categorized as a restaurant even though food delivery or even food cart is a more apt classification - this suggestion (along with appending your name to Delivery/Take-Out Only on google) has been floated as well and hopefully this can be changed to ensure people don’t think you are a restaurant. FILL MY BUNS BY DEFINITION IS NOT A RESTAURANT!

The 1 star review will hopefully be read by people - and then they will happily order understanding the bent of the review is not a slight to your service or food quality.

In love with this place.

I've been here a couple of times since they opened for dine in. They have done a beautiful job of decoration and they have created a very cozy and modern space.

I'm not exaggerating when I say they have one of the best equipped kitchens for fast food I've seen around Vietnam in a while. It says a lot about how they care about their food quality, consistence, and hygiene (they do comply to HACCP standards from Germany, of all countries, and they are serious about it)

Not just because their place looks so pretty, but their company is also outstanding. You can tell how they care about their products by talking to them, all the passion they put and all the different endeavours they have gone through to reach this point of the business. I really admire them,

Now, about the food! This time I had their Fill My Buns Burger (double beef patty, cheddar cheese, and one of my favourite bacon strips in Da Nang). If you have a look at their prices, please keep in mind their bread buns are 12cm wide, so that makes for a serious burger.

They do have some amazing muffins that in my opinion are far better from what McD can offer in this city.

I also love the way they put part of their German roots into the menu, having now the Frika Bread and hpoefully more specialities coming soon :)

I've also had my eyes on their burnt basque cheesecake which I had trouble ordering the last two times, as I've ended up too full from devouring their burgers. The third time is a charm they say :)

I definitely recommend them to try for delivery and specially dine in, to get a chance to meet this lovely couple.

And of course I'm coming back...

Finding halal burgers in Da Nang can be quite a challenge. While not every item on their menu is halal, and they do serve pork and alcoholic beverages, they make it incredibly easy to identify halal options. You simply scan a QR code at your table to access their online menu, where clearly marked halal and vegan signs guide your choices. Thankfully, a majority of their menu is halal.

What truly put my mind at ease were the reviews I read, highlighting the owner's genuine commitment to halal standards. This reassured me that they prioritize preventing cross-contamination during cooking and are meticulous in their meat supplier choices. I ordered the Smokey Burger and some Chicken Popcorn, the burger was incredibly perfect! The taste was absolutely spot-on. I'll definitely be back to this cafe whenever I'm craving a burger in Da Nang again.

As a nice touch, they even offered complimentary flower tea while I waited for my food. Plus, the staff had excellent English communication skills, which made the whole experience even smoother.

I genuinely hope this restaurant maintains its high halal standards and eventually gains halal certification. Their current dedication to halal is already deeply...
