I went to this place last week because I had read the food was good. Unfortunately I never got to try the food. This was because the waitress that served us was probably one of the rudest people I have ever met. She threw the menu down on the table, and shouted at us what did we want. Then she told us to hurry up. So we gave her an order with drinks. With that, she then went to another table and shouted at them also. They got up and left. We decided to wait for our food, but then we saw the waitress getting on the back of a motorbike with a food delivery or something and disappear into the distance. She brought nothing to our table at all. No drinks, no plates or glasses.
I have owned and managed a restaurant in Ireland for many years and I have never witnessed behaviour like that before. I have worked under far more pressure and busier situations than in ut trieu so I don't take being busy as an excuse to be rude to people.
We have a saying in Ireland; it's nice to be nice. I think that waitress needs to start treating people like she'd like to be treated. No matter how busy you are the customers are there to enjoy themselves, not to be shouted at. The customers are paying the salaries of the staff. If the waitress had been nice to us I would have left a tip....
Read moreI don’t really understand where all the positive reviews came from. We had a bad experience dining here on the 1st day of new year. The young staff were very nice and polite but the woman who took the order was outrageous. She was super rude to my parents who are at least 30 years older than her. The food was no better than her attitude. The sour soup had too much MSG that half of us felt unwell for an hour after dinner. The scallops (sò điệp) were so expensive for the size. It ends up being 50k for 1 tiny scallop (yes you read that right). Of course we would not order that if we were informed better about the size during the ordering. The only thing that was edible was the fried rice but you can get the same quality fried rice...
Read moreI visited Con Dao with my family from Chicago and was clueless about where to have seafood because we had got scammed on prices at some seafood restaurants before. After doing some research we found Ut Trieu, we decided to give it a try. And it didn’t disappoint us. The food was absolutely delicious, in good portions, and priced very reasonably. The owner was super friendly and honest with us about the price, which we liked the most. Highly recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for a reliable seafood restaurant at Con Dao, and don’t hesitate to ask the owner for...
