Con Dao is a very small town on a small island with a lot of hotels. There were many choices, most of which we learned about while wandering after we'd booked the Huong Dao for our first night. We rebooked again and again til we left. It was the best we could see for a great price ($22) vs. anything that was close in quality/location most of which were resorts in the hundreds of dollars. The manager? (not sure of his title) was wonderful to us, upgrading us, advising us, even resolving an unforeseen flight problem. We had a beautiful balcony overlooking the park, market, mountains, etc. It was not facing the beach though (few did for some odd reason), but was great nonetheless. The only reason it's not a five, is the few amenities available. However, only a couple expensive resorts had pools but the ocean was two blocks away, and practically deserted. If you go to Con Son Islands, stay at the Huong Dao. You'll be happy...

Walking distance to local market, national park, other foodie tour place, hiking half day near Six Sense Resort. The receptionist desk, Mr Hieu, helping me a lot about renting a bike, motor bike, local guide t tips, book a 50.000 shuttle bus to Con Dao airport. I stayed in the beige one next to the pink one, it's a bit confusing as it looks like separate hotels but if it is they have the same name!! There is also a balcony at the front of the hotel on the third floor overlooking the town and hills and great to see the sunset here. They helped me...
