It's a lovely peaceful coffee shop tucked away in a quiet spot, on top of a hill in Da Lat; the shop's name literally translates to "Under the old pine tree". Me and my friend went there for afternoon snack at 3pm on a Thursday. What impressed us was the customer service. The young shop owner was so nice and quite dedicated. We ordered 2 drinks, 1 cream cheese croissant, and 1 pain au chocolat; thinking that it was just basic pastries, but the shop owner enthusiastically explained how he'd serve the dishes (heated in the oven until crisp, with cream cheese whiffs, berries sauce, chocolate sauce, dried chrysanthemum, rosemary sprigs and gold leaf decoration,...) so that we know exactly what we'd get on the plates. The pastries served to us were pretty much restaurant-standard, almost fine- dining, unlike many other coffee shops that we've been to (which only serve pastries straight from the glass display). The drinks are pretty nice too. I had Vietnamese iced milk coffee (bac xiu da) and my friend had the orange juice with salted plum (cam ep xi muoi). Orange juice was freshly squeezed and coffee was freshly brewed (I don't really like the stale milk coffee that's pre-made and left in the fridge for a couple days). Overall, the snacks and drinks are lovely. Prices are also very reasonable, if not to say quite cheap because of the quality (2 drinks and 2 snacks for 200,000VND, about $8.50). Other big pluses for us are the use of glass straws, it's super environmentally friendly, and the friendly cat who kept following us while we went around taking pictures of the shop. What else...

Sonny, was incredibly welcoming and helpful. He took the time to recommend their house specials and even helped us set up for the best flowers and lighting for our photos, such a thoughtful touch that really elevated the experience.
The food was delicious, especially the avocado croissant special… honestly to die for! Fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated. Their drink options are also impressive, with a good variety to choose from, and everything is very reasonably priced.

Read moreto be honest, i rarely ever visit the same place twice since i like to try new spots, but this cafe is one of those rare exceptions that keeps pulling me back. on my second visit, i got the chance to meet the owner, and honestly, he and his wife are the sweetest people they pour their heart and soul into everything here. they make their own cakes, drinks, even the mains, and i tried the avocado croissant this time… i was actually shocked at how beautiful it looked, too pretty to eat, and the taste was even better the best croissant i’ve ever had, hands down. i ended up chatting with him for hours about how he and his wife built this dream cafe together, and apparently they even run a homestay next to it, which makes the whole experience even more special. the decorations completely captivated me too, with this cozy semi-european style mixed with colorful details in every corner that make the place feel alive. i know for sure i’ll come back again whenever...
