My visit to Sinh Tu in Hanoi turned out to be an utter disaster. Not only were we served raw and inedible meat, but the restaurant's air conditioning was also abysmal, adding to our discomfort and dissatisfaction.
From the moment our dishes arrived, it was clear that there was a major problem. The meat on our plates had a distinct pinkish color and a slimy texture, clear indications that it was severely undercooked. Despite our initial hesitations, we reluctantly took a bite, hoping it was an isolated mistake. Unfortunately, our worst fears were confirmed as the rawness of the meat persisted throughout the entire serving.
The experience of biting into raw meat was not only unpleasant but also posed serious health risks. We felt utterly betrayed as customers, having expected properly cooked and safe food. The rawness of the meat was a blatant disregard for basic food safety standards and showcased a lack of culinary expertise on the part of Sinh Tu's kitchen staff.
To compound our disappointment, the accompanying side dishes did little to compensate for the lack of edible meat. It was as if they had forgotten to include an adequate portion altogether. We were left searching through the meager offerings, hoping to salvage some semblance of a satisfying meal.
Adding insult to injury, the uncomfortable heat in the restaurant amplified our dissatisfaction. The air conditioning was either nonexistent or so poorly functioning that it provided no relief from the sweltering conditions. It exacerbated our already disappointing dining experience, leaving us feeling sweaty, uncomfortable, and utterly disappointed.
In conclusion, my visit to Sinh Tu was marred by the unforgivable presence of raw and inedible meat. The negligence in properly cooking the meat displayed a lack of regard for customer safety and satisfaction. Furthermore, the ineffective air conditioning only added to our discomfort. I strongly advise against dining at Sinh Tu if you value food safety, expect a satisfying meal, and desire a comfortable dining atmosphere. It is crucial for the restaurant to address these glaring issues promptly to regain customer trust and ensure a safe and enjoyable...
Read moreThis place feels like a reliable choice for tourists or Vietnamese diners looking for consistency in food quality. However, the lackluster customer service leaves much to be desired. I visited in the evening when the restaurant was nearly empty with just two small groups of tourists and one female customer who arrived after me. The menu was quite limited, offering only about five or six dishes, and the price for a standard bún chả meal was noticeably higher than what you'd pay at most local eateries or street vendors.
Given the above-average pricing, I expected a higher-quality meal. Instead, it turned out to be a fairly standard bún chả, nothing particularly special. The portion of noodles was on the smaller side, and the quantity of meat wasn’t generous either, you could easily count the number of pieces in the bowl. That said, the meat portions themselves were large and flavorful, and the broth was decent. They also provided a full bowl of raw vegetables, though the quality was average. Despite the meal looking modest in portion size, the larger meat pieces made it quite filling overall, so I’d consider it a decent though unremarkable meal.
The real issue was with the service. The young female staff member clearly wasn’t rude, but she appeared untrained and unprofessional. She didn’t hand me a menu upon entry, and when I asked for one, she seemed impatient. I sat at the middle of a table meant for 3–4 people, but when my food was ready, she simply placed it at the far edge of the table and walked away, leaving me to retrieve it myself. Her demeanor was noticeably casual, even joking loudly with the kitchen staff when asked to bring out dishes, saying she couldn’t hear and refusing to go.
While her behavior didn’t seem intentionally disrespectful, it came across as too relaxed for a service setting, especially when the restaurant charges above-average prices. If customers are expected to pay more, they should receive service that reflects that value. In this case, the food was fine, but the overall experience was let down by...
