We should praise the hotel for some things like the cleaning of the room is good, staff is generally friendly and very nice breakfast staff, see the picture. The location is also rather good. I was staying for quite some time as I didn’t want to move as I got to know some people in the area and I need some stability as of my work and not to much moving around.
However on the other side. The hotel is not a 4-star hotel or matching the 4-star criteria for numerous reasons.
Firstly, the name Hotel Minasi and Spa is very misleading because there is no spa in the hotel!. The manager said it is a spa hotel as their sister hotel 10 minutes away in a cap has a spa. Secondly, there is no bar or cafe in the hotel. Thirdly, there is no room service in the hotel for food and drinks.
Fourthly, the staff doesn't speak Chinese or English except for Betty and the very nice doorman George, very nice staff and helpful, Betty is top class. Fifthly, there is not a fitness center or pool or anything which is usually also in 4 -star hotels.
And sixthly, number six, when staying in a so-called deluxe room for 2 nights there is no deluxe at all in the room so the name is very misleading. And also, you could say seventhly, they say the room has an internal window, but there is no such word as an internal window. I didn't even understand what he meant by internal window. I even googled it and it's not there.
Lastly the explanation from the hotel manager about the hotel having a spa. Their sister hotel has a spa 10 minutes away in a Taxi, so therefore they call themselves a spa hotel!. A brief conversation with him and this answer showed me clearly that the hotel has a bad-not to clever- management problem. I am sure I will get some kind of explanation / sorry answer from them about this, just as I got many while staying here, often very non-logic answers.
As of this and value for money can only give 2 to 3 stars but Betty gets a five star :)

Read moreI recently stayed at Minasi Hotel and Spa for just one night after a trip to Sapa, and I wish I had more time to enjoy this wonderful hotel. From the moment I arrived, the service was exceptional, and I cannot praise the staff, especially Betty, enough.
Betty went above and beyond to ensure my short stay was both comfortable and memorable. She is incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and attentive, always putting the needs of the guests first. Betty not only recommended fantastic nearby eateries but also arranged my airport transfer, which was spacious, comfortable, and stress-free.
Despite my brief stay, I truly enjoyed every moment at Minasi Hotel and Spa. The hotel’s attention to detail, warm hospitality, and top-notch service left a lasting impression. I will absolutely return on my next visit to Hanoi and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an...

The staff at the front desk were incredibly accommodating and went above and beyond to assist my grandmother, always offering a warm and friendly attitude. Whenever we had any concerns, they did everything they could to help. The room was not only comfortable but also very accessible for my grandmother, making our stay even more pleasant. The breakfast was delicious, with a wonderful variety of options to choose from. A big thank you to everyone at the hotel for being so kind to my grandmother, especially Emily, who was an absolute gem and helped us navigate around Hanoi. We’re truly grateful for all the care and...
